I voted to remain but I just don't know how I feel about the petition - it's a democracy and the voting is now done. The damage and hurt is already here, it won't go away if the petition is successful will it??

Not so much an AIBU as an is there any point? Please can someone explain it to me...

I'm unsure too and haven't signed it. Despite the fact that I lose my livelihood due to the result.

This isn't a game where somewhere can yell 'best of 3' when they lose.

At the same time, I acknowledge the deep unfairness revealed by the voting demographics. Younger voters want to remain.

Unfair demographics, plus the leave campaign have been outed as making most of it up. It should be a mandatory reconsideration seeing as the votes were cast under various illusions.

The vote in was less than truthful also.... How many pensioners do you think voted in for a fear of a emergency budget and not protection for there pension, that this morning turned out to be another scaremongering tactic

surely signing the petition is democracy asserting itself again having acknowledged that it might have made a mistake the first time around? So many voters were clueless as to what they were actually voting for and have admitted to regretting their decision, so its possible (likely?) that the leave result no longer represents the majority view.

And then there's the question of the London flooding preventing voters from accessing polling stations and therefore influencing the result. I really hope they do consider a second referendum.

Many people felt that 16-17 year olds should have been allowed to vote.

Frankly, Pocketrocket, I sincerely hope that there isn't now a self-imposed recession. But if the economists are right and there is, then I don't believe that pensioners can be shielded from cuts any longer. The younger generations have aboaorbed the vast majority of the cuts so far, and there is little fat left to trim there. And this desicion was made by older voters.

But if remain had won, it wouldn't have been finished business. Farage made it quite clear he'd push for a second referendum a few years down the line if we had elected to stay in the EU.

And the outcome of all this suggests that leaving the EU no longer represents the will of the majority. Especially since 16/17 year olds weren't allowed to vote.

I didn't sign either. I would do pretty much anything for the UK to remain in the EU and avoid possible breakup of the UK, but it would set too dangerous a precedent.

The petition if heard and agreed with 100% cause violence maybe even a civil war.
I didn't vote for anyone but the vote has been chosen you cannot go back just because you lost.

I signed the petition as I feel many voted leave because they were misinformed and should be given the chance to reconsider once all the ramifications become clearer.What have you to lose by signing?
