Turn the hose pipe on them!

YANBU

My two do this and I'm just why?!?

Surely the point of a water fight is to get wet? At least it was when I was younger...

I second Gnome!

I've just gone out in the garden because it's raining, and I certainly don't mind getting wet. grin

Filling the guns with boiling water should give them something to whinge about grin

And yes that was a joke, before the thread gets invaded by cat's bum mouths.

My dad used to put his water gun in the freezer, if we came to clise we got a blast, it was horrific and awesome at the same time.

GahBuggerit Thu 23-Jun-16 18:06:09

Worra thats abhorrent you should be ashamed, as a joke it wasnt funny. im PO about that

<cats bum>

surely some form of sugar water would be better mwahahaha

Letmehaveausername Thu 23-Jun-16 18:07:19

Gah sugar water gringringrin

I am so trying that one (even though it'll possibly make it harder for me to bath the kids...)

queenMab99 Thu 23-Jun-16 18:09:01

I get this with grandchildren, aged 7 and 4. It takes 45 mins to get all the stuff out and fill the paddling pool, then 2mins play, then whinging and whining. (and wetting Granny angry) I brought them inside last time and have said no more water play until they can play happily together.

GahBuggerit Thu 23-Jun-16 18:09:24

it does. sad

felt good at the time though, esp as they had no idea grin

Love me a good water fight. DD will be taught to love them too. I think my niece would be up for it but my nephew who is scared of his own shadow would love it until he got wet

AugustaFinkNottle Thu 23-Jun-16 18:12:31

When the kids come to me with complaints like that, I tend to do a head tilt, pretend to think about it a bit, and say "I don't mind". It usually surprises them into shutting up.

Do it do it do it!

Worra that reminds me of that old joke

Next door kids have started a water fight. They invited me to join in. So I'm just waiting for the kettle to finish boiling and I'm off to play wink
