I have received 4 dubious emails from Lloyds today. One about a mortgage application and 3 about taking my id docs into a branch to open a new account. Two phone calls to Lloyds later and 2 different answers - 1. they have been sent in error (ie Lloyds fault) and 2. This is a scam email. Has anyone else has this and AIBU to expect a straight answer from my bank ?

Done the usual change of passwords but losing confidence fast

No, I've not received any. YY, they should be able to provide 1answer as to whether it's a scam!

If in doubt forward it to the banks phishing email address. Ask if it's a scam.

Generally what to look for is -
Dear customer or your name.
Dear customer scam. Name possible.
Do you bank with them for them to be sending emails.
Spelling mistakes, grammar errors.
The address used for who it's sent from, banks won't use yahoo etc.

I am not defending anyone. But without seeing an email it's hard to know if it's a scam or not.

If you bank with them - I have two different banks. They occasionally send emails. They email to let me know I have a message. They advice not to click the link. When I log in the legit message is waiting.

I've found their internet security to be brilliant. Forward the emails onto the address from the caption, just to be sure

To be honest all you need to do either way is ignore them. If they were sent by mistake then ignore them, and if they are a scam then ignore them.
