I really love this coat. I ve had my eye on it for approx 4 months. Its now in the sale.

Im joining weight watchers tomorrow. Im a size 18 and i really need to shift this weight that is making me bloody miserable!

Im very tempted to order the coat in a size 14.

Would i be a idiot to do this?

Coat is here...

Do it. It's lovely, great motivation and if all else fails you can Ebay!

Good luck with the healthy eating.

Why not? If you can afford it you could be wearing it by Autumn :)

I'd do it. I'd consider it motivation.

You shouldn't buy it until you can wear it. use it as a reward rather than an incentive

No. You will simply end up with a coat that is too small.

If i dont buy it then it wont be for sale when i come to wear it as its in the clearance.

Its a raincoat not a winter coat

I might order it in a 16 but probably not a 14, but then I have zero willpower and lose and regain the same half stone fairly regularly. If you are disciplined it's definitely doable

I've done that before. If you've decided you're going to lose weight then you'll be able to fit into it soon!

Mskite

Did you fit into the clothing you bought that was too small?

I have bought smaller sizes before and I have lost weight to wear them. Don't forget though that clothing sizes can be very erratic from different shops. Might be an idea to check out the measurements. I have different blouses that vary from a 12 to and 18 and they all fit me!🙄

Do it. Stick a picture of it on the fridge. I've lost 3 and ahalf stone. There is no better feeling than the zip fastening on a smaller size!

I ve read the reviews on it and one or two people have said they had to size down but the rest said it was true to size.

It might never fit you right, depending on your shape and where you lose weight from.

Yes I did. 14 is reasonable. If you've decided to lose weight, then you'll lose weight Smile

Oh don't do it! You could lose 3 dress sizes and still be too broad shouldered, for example. It's a sheet waste!

Save the money for a gorgeous coat that fits you perfectly when you're the size you're aiming for.

I've done this before... got a coat in a size too small last winter couldn't fit in til Feb but wore it from Feb til April and it still looks new.

If you don't lose the weight you could sell it on ebay

Hang it where you can see it every day. It's a great motivation. I did this with my wedding dress (non weddingy, and in an opaque bag so DH couldn't see it) and it helped keep me committed. Might try it again as I have put weight back on that I want to lose. Thank you for reminding me.

It depends if you have any willpower. I've done this in the past, but usually end up a couple of years later giving them to my skinny sister with the labels still attached. If you have willpower, go for it!

I've done this a lot in my life and it rarely works out. So realistically and in the nicest possible way, don't do it.
