What does early in the week mean

Have been promised results for something important "early" this week. Nothing as yet! Just wondering what you would regard as early... I'm thinking Monday-Wednesday?

Yes, early in the week = Monday or Tuesday. Middle of the week = Wednesday. Later in the week = Thursday or Friday.

Early in the week is definitely Monday. Tuesday is pushing it but can count.

Wednesday is definitely middle of the week

Yes Monday, or Tuesday. Wednesday is the middle so no longer early. Generally for 'doing' things a week is Monday to Friday.

Though if Saturday or Sunday were being included the with a bit of leeway I'd say early week is Wednesday at the latest.

I would agree that it means Monday or Tuesday, but as it is rather vague i would not be surprised that there is hope to push it to Wednesday (otherwise why not say Monday or tuesday?)

I generally lean toward Monday or Tuesday. Give them until Wednesday, as you never know what is happening on the other eand. Follow up Thursday morning if you have heard nothing.
