Putting DD to bed and I trumped. Rather long. And rather loud.

DD looked shocked and said 'bloody hell mummy, was that you?'

She's 3.5. I honestly couldn't help but laugh!

Will pull her if she says it again but she's never said it before so it took me by surprise and caught me out!

I don't think swearing around kids is funny. Not so young anyway. I have a total cat's bum mouth. grin

NerrSnerr Thu 16-Jun-16 18:27:08

That is funny. I'm sure that knowing the phrase 'bloody hell' won't cause her too much psychological damage.

NerrSnerr Thu 16-Jun-16 18:28:13

Bloody hell euph is not as if she told her mum to fuck off is it?

WorraLiberty Thu 16-Jun-16 18:28:22

Haha! grin

I would have simply said, "Oh no, that's a naughty word" and left it at that.

God to laugh at people when they ask where a child hears swearing. Like they wear earplugs in the street/on the bus/at the park/at the supermarket etc.

PaulAnkaTheDog Thu 16-Jun-16 18:28:39

Euphemia how old are your children?

WorraLiberty Thu 16-Jun-16 18:28:52

*Got - not God

Euphemia Thu 16-Jun-16 18:31:29

DD is nearly 14.

hollyisalovelyname Thu 16-Jun-16 18:31:30

Wait until she tells other people ALL about her amazing mother!!!

ToTheCrystalDome Thu 16-Jun-16 18:31:41

But did you admit to the trump Op?!?!

PaulAnkaTheDog Thu 16-Jun-16 18:39:36

Then you must be the luckiest parent alive to have got through 14 years without your child hearing any unfortunate words! grin

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery Thu 16-Jun-16 18:55:32

your DD used it in context and for comedic effect. star grin

Sassypants82 Thu 16-Jun-16 18:59:45

Ah here, go easy on Euphemia, its not like she has totally condemned OP & is enjoying the banter. No need to get nasty.

ricketytickety Thu 16-Jun-16 19:00:36

It's cute and well timed. I swear like a trooper (under my breath mostly!!) but my dc have only dropped the odd swear word when they were about this age.

LaContessaDiPlump Thu 16-Jun-16 19:02:37

I have a friend who told me in confidence that her 3yo muttered 'Fuck sake' in the car occasionally, and that she was quite impressed that he only said it when other people's poor driving merited such a response grin

I laughed politely but must admit I judged a tiny bit blush have unclenched now!

PaulAnkaTheDog Thu 16-Jun-16 19:03:58

No one was nasty hmm
