After reading some threads recently about people who's neighbours come round and shout as a result of DIY work or kids playing in the garden I'm feeling grateful for my noisy neighbours.
I used to have an elderly couple on one side and the woman used to scream at us for things like our visitors parking outside their house (not obstructing their blocked curb), being outside in the garden past 9pm and not cutting our hedge to her preferred height (the man used to sneak out and cut it when I was out of the house).
Now I have a younger couple with four boys ranging in age from 3 to 15 and a dog. They are noisy, they shout at each other. They have a paddling pool and a trampoline and balls fly over the wall regularly. Sometimes they stay up late in the garden and sometimes they have parties. They play the radio outside a lot.
But they smile when we see each other, they always ask politely for balls back and never harass us and they have never complained once about us leading our lives as people in urban areas do. And, luckily I like their taste in radio.
Reading about some of the cantankerous neighbours other posts are faced with I'm really grateful for the Noisington family. They will never come round and have a go for wallpaper stripping.
Anyone else feel the same?
