Guys. My little sister (13) just messaged me her ex best friend bullies her at school and social media. She has asked me to message her and tell her off but would that get me in trouble? I'm 25 years old mum and I don't usually get involved in stuff like this but she is so upset I just don't know what to do. Before anybody asks yes my mother went to school principal but they don't seem to be too bothered about it. Thanks.

Please don't message the children involved

Do get screenshots from your sister

Look at the school anti bullying policy (should be on school website) and get your mum involved in escalating it

Getting big sister involved would make it worse not better

Get the school complaints ts procedure and look at it - ask your mom to refer to it in emails

By all means message advise your sister in how to handle the problems - ie be nice don't give them ammunition watch what you say online as it could be misinterpreted block her screen shot everything ignore her etc

Don't butch about the other girl as it's seen as title for tat - sis needs to come out smelling of roses as othes will realise that sis has never done X y or z and bully will look bad

I have advised my sister not to say anything to her just screenshot everything she says and be the bigger person to walk away at school.if she starts but it is so upsetting seeing your little sister upset. I will speak to my mother again, although she has already spoke to school they ain't done much about it. The girl had a lesson with school councilor and that's about it. The girl has older sister in year 10 whom she told to throw food at my little sister at lunch. Out of order makes me so mad!!

So it's escalated, since it was 'dealt with'?

That's enough reason to want this addressed again.

If you get directly involved, then you've threatened a child and that allegation/charge, could have a massive impact on your life.

The schools response to SM bullying, is for the victim to come off it. The Police do take bullying and threats, carried out, online, seriously, though.
