To actually hate most things about UK summers

Where do I start?

Flys. In the house, shitting everywhere. Sitting on my fruit and playing bloody games with me.

Sweating. I can't go for a walk, do the school run without looking a sweaty mess. I never know what to wear either as its cloudy first thing then baking hot later. The gym is not a nice place to be and neither is actually going for a run.

Sun cream. Sticky and horrible. Kids hate having it on. I hate putting it on them.

Sunhats. On afore mentioned kids. Won't keep them on.

BBQs. Horrid. Too much meat, rolls going crispy where they've been left out. Sweaty cheese. Limp, warm salads.

Smug people sat outside pubs because they can

Everyone saying isn't the weather lovely.

Roll on Autumn. AIBU?

I'd like to add that my hair is always a f***g mess in summer; too frizzy because of the humidity or too greasy because of sweating.

I've got another. Kids wanting the paddling pool out. Takes an hour to sort it out and fill in. Kids get in. 10 seconds later they get out as its too cold and want it put away as its getting in their way.

I like it when it's warm enough to wear shorts and t-shirt but if it cools down a light jacket is all that's needed

I'm incredibly pale, so I have to wear factor 50. It's always really sticky and horrible feeling.
I get polymorphic light eruption rash. Because I'm literally allergic to the sun. It looks like I have the plague.
I wonder if I can reverse-hibernate until October?

Yanbu. Im not good in heat so whilst everyone else is swanning round all tanned I'm hiding indoors. Having to shave my legs and armpits every day is a right faff

Light nights - DD4 wont go off to sleep until nearly 9 and she's a grumpy madam all morning.

Cutting the grass. Grows so bloody fast for 5 months and we only seem to get about 10 days in total ON it.

The big inflatable pool lure. Always seems such a good idea; you look at the pictures, you think: yeaaah, lets put the pool up and frolick in it. But put it up and the waters is minus 7 from the hose, it gets full of insects and leaves within 2 minutes and then it clouds straight over and pisses down for a week. Then you give up and have to empty the damn thing - and then you have a huge stinking rotten dead patch on the afore mentioned lawn.

It isn't like we get much summer. I think it's going to be shitty again come the weekend. That's what I hate about summer, we don't get enough of it.

I do hate that we also get muggy weather. I love the sun and I love heat but I do wish it wasn't so muggy.

The summer is my least favourite season!

And when I say this I'm always met with similar replies like 'ooh don't wish the sun away, it'll rain next week!' Or 'that's so British, moan about it being cold and then moan when it gets hot.' No. Just no. I don't moan when it's cold. I don't care if it rains. I hate it when it's hot. Why is that so hard for some people to understand. Not everybody enjoys roasting in the sun like a chicken in a bloody oven thank you very much.

I do love summer for a week or so but the novelty wears off very quickly.

I like leaving the backdoor open so DDog can go in and out and sit on the back mat sunning herself but the flies. The fucking flies. Millions of them. I had a bee in the house yesterday. I was, naturally, terrified. DDog got all excited because I was jumping around like a loon. Then the bee landed and DDog ate it. She's now a very swollen-faced DDog. This wouldn't happen in autumn I tell you.

DH did tell me yesterday that I look radiant in my summer clothes so perhaps I don't look like the fat sweaty mess I thought I did.

If we had more of it we'd be properly geared up for it. (Just the same as with snow, in this bit of the uk everything grinds to a halt round here with a cm of the stuff.)

We always bung a couple of kettle full of hot water in our paddling pool to take the edge off. Obviously my kids are a bit soft.

I love summer - just so long as all I have to do is sit indoors with the curtains firmly closed, feet up, with a cold drink.

Real life dictates that I must beetle around doing stuff, getting hot and sweaty, sticky with sunscreen. Debating which is worse - wearing shorts and revealing cellulite and thread veins, or long trousers/skirt and being hot. Makeup sliding off within 10 nanoseconds of putting it on. Aaaarrrrrgghhhhhh.....
