To lie here and clench

Because it is my turn finally for a lie in, DH is downstairs with dd and they are being so lovely and trying to be quiet.

I need a wee.

If I open that bedroom door my lie in will be over and they will know I am awake.

I know I should be downstairs participating in family life and all that jazz, but I really REALLY wanted to make it to 10am.

To clench or not to clench??

Clench. Take every precious lie moment you can, even if it is painful Grin

Best just go I find. This is me 6am every morning. Sometimes I manage to sneak to the bathroom without any one noticing, but it's a risk I have to take.

stanky they will definitely KNOW. And take it as a sign the I am fully awake, happy to chat and get ready for doing something.

My pelvic floor will be like steel after this if I manage it!

I'm laughing at this because right now I'm doing EXACTLY the same thing! However in my case it is much needed as these muscles need a work out from when I gave birth 7 days ago. Lol

liberty I think a 7 day old baby excuses you and allows you to wee and return!
I may be pushing that one since my DD is 8.... Years not days! Grin

Can I quote you on that when my 7 year old runs upstairs at the first creak? Mumsnet has spoken lol

We are moving house soon (yes I'm mad) but it has no squeaky floorboards (yep I checked) so this will be a distant problem. Lol

Clench girl clench!

Made me chuckle and think of Saturday mornings in our house. I always feel like I'm in that scene from Jurassic Park with the velociraptors- don't make a sound...

To lie here and clench

Ah, yes that is quite a big thing!!
I was thinking more along lines if you've just given birth so surely dibs on sleeping when possible are yours to claim!!

Can't you fake vomiting and say you're too unwell to leave the bed yet? Win win you get to wee and lie in bed all day lol

Wondering how bad it would be to wet the bed .... Not your side obviously Grin

durham I have so far considered:
Searching for shewee
Pelvic floor mindfulness
Distracting self with MN (which made me laugh)

I draw the line at sticking bum out of window (the number 8 bus passengers who pass my house probably wouldn't appreciate!)

Go wee and shout down that you have a headache and need another hour to settle it.

Shame your dd is not a toddler. Big nappies would have been very useful.

Go to the bathroom and make vomity noises? Then reel back to bed claiming the plague, sleep for longer? #helpful#

Don't clench it makes it worse. Turn over on your side, and bring one knee up near your hip, so your are sort of in the recovery position. Takes the pressure off your bladder. I can get get another couple of hours sleep like this. (Bladder issues!)

Ok, it's gone 10am, I am verging on pain, but not quite actual pain.

Think I'm going to have to get up...

It was the PRINCIPLE of it, the principle!

Note to self... Purchase tena for future lie in (in 2035, but still..)

Hurrah for lie ins!!

You should be very proud of your bladder, it didn't let you down when you needed it.
I bet your first wee was wonderful, nothing like the first wee of the day is there!!
