To take DD to the doctors for bad breath?

Not sure where's best to post this. DD is 2 yo almost 3 and has had bad breath for weeks! Oral hygiene is great her teeth are brushed 2-3 times a day and are beautiful. She drinks plenty of water all day and still her breath is rancid. I can't hardly bear her breathing in my face and I know others must smell it and think her teeth are neglected! WIBU to take her to the doctors for this? Our dentist wouldn't see her for months unless it's an emergency so that's not an option. And I don't think her teeth are the issue anyway

Could be coming from her throat my dd had throat problems when she was little her breath was rank take her to get checked out

When my DD has smelly breath it's usually a sign she's coming down with something. Maybe get her throat, ears etc checked out.

I took my daughter to the dentist for rancid breath and she said she thought it was tonsillitis and to take her to the doc. I did and it was! Apparently bad breath can be an indicator of throat infections and my dd never complains of pain so breath sniffing is a godsend to me!

I would get it checked. It could be an infection or something and nothing or acetone smelling breath can be a symptom of diabetes (unlikely if its been going on for ages)

I would take her DS1's was related to his ear problems. DS2 had tests to rule out kidney problems (although his was more of a smell akin to urine rather than normal bad breath)

Does she sleep with her mouth open? My son has terrible breath if he doesn't use mouthwash and his morning breath could knock a bull out.

The dentist said that it was due to sleeping with his mouth wide open!

Definitely check up her nose. When I was younger I stuck a piece of sponge up there.
My mum only noticed when I started to smell.
Had to go under GA and have it removed as it was pretty embedded in there!

Do go and see the GP for them to have a look at her.

Ds2 doesn't tolerate gluten well either and he definately smells worse if he has had a lot bread or gluten based food.

Like others have said, when my kids breath has been rancid, its been throat infections/tonsilitis etc.

YANBU to take her to the doctors, as PP have said it could be a problem with either her tonsils or sinuses. Diabetes tends to smell like pear drops rather than a rancid smell. If DC is particularly sensitive though, ask for either a telephone consultation first to explain why you are bringing them in, or ask receptionist to discreetly pop a not to go.

My dcs have terrible breath when they're coming down with something. And also when they don't drink enough water.

I have a friend whose daughter had terrible bad breath. She took her to the doctor, and he found she had stuck a tiny sponge up her nose. One of those little sponge ducks that they sell for baby dolls. It took him like 30 seconds to get it out. Take her to the doctor.

I'm a lunatic about tongue brushing I hate seeing a milky film on after her breakfast aha so it can't be that. Her nose looks clear and she's normally a nightmare when she's feeling poorly but im no doctor! Will definitely take her to the GP tomorrow to get her checked out then just wanted to make sure I wasn't being over the top!

Most common cause of bad breath is tonsil stones! Google them and then look for them. They fucking stink! My DD has them. Failing that sometimes a cavity can cause a smell

My DS gets terrible breath when he is poorly with ear/throat infections.

Could it be something lingering thats not quite cleared up causing it?
