To not stop saying that menstruation is a women's issue?

Despite the fact that Twitter loons insist that it is triggering for trans women and erasing trans men?

On behalf of the millions and millions of women and girls suffering due to periods, and lack of access to sanpro and toilets (a FAR bigger human rights issue than where people with gender dysphoria pee) , I will keep saying this is a women's issue.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp Sat 28-May-16 20:18:34

I agree!!!

TheDuchyOfGrandFenwick Sat 28-May-16 20:19:17

I'm so glad I don't use twitter/tumblr etc.

RidersOnTheStorm Sat 28-May-16 20:19:30

Indeed it is.

Duchy you are wise

It brings at least as much grief as fun/insight etc

HeffalumpHistory Sat 28-May-16 20:20:51

You are indeed correct!

witsender Sat 28-May-16 20:21:15

Of course it is! Because it only affects women. Ain't rocket science.

Champagneformyrealfriends Sat 28-May-16 20:22:17

hmm
Triggering how, exactly? I'm sick of people looking for reasons to take offence.

MardleBum Sat 28-May-16 20:22:58

Triggering? How? confused

I'm baffled that it could be construed as anything other than a woman's issue? shock

RaspberryOverload Sat 28-May-16 20:26:16

OP, I totally agree with you.

HermioneWeasley Sat 28-May-16 20:26:21

I think some of you have missed the memo that "woman" isn't a biological category anymore, (according to some at least) it means "anyone who does or doesn't identify as a woman from time to time"

ThatStewie Sat 28-May-16 20:28:08

I agree. It's incredibly damaging to women's access to reproductive justice to have this nonsense tossed about.

How could it be triggering? People who were born male do not menustrate. Why is that news to anybody, or any more "triggering" (I hate that fucking word) than talking about the male (naturally) penis might make woman feel jealous that they don't have one??

GunnyHighway Sat 28-May-16 20:31:23

Is almost Monty Python like.

One again some people need reminding that being "offended" does not make someone "right"

venusinscorpio Sat 28-May-16 20:31:36

YANBU. Obviously. Fucking idiots.

papayasareyum Sat 28-May-16 20:33:24

it triggers them into remembering that they're not women?

HermioneWeasley Sat 28-May-16 20:33:47

ego agree, there are many sensible trans individuals who don't want to trample all over women. But some do, and have been astonishingly successful at getting people to talk about "people who menstruate" and "birthing individuals"

I have never heard a woman with PCOS (for example) insist that women don't talk about menstrauation because it's "triggering" for them.

glenthebattleostrich Sat 28-May-16 20:35:15

Unfortunately the trans activism movement has been taken over online by a bunch of social justice warriors who won't accept that there are differences between women and transwomen. Sane voices are becoming fewer and fewer because the slightest hint you may deviate from their agenda leads to (at best) shouts of terf and bigot.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp Sat 28-May-16 20:37:04

Why won't they accept there are differences ? They must see them every day

Maybe that's why they are pissed off

HermioneWeasley Sat 28-May-16 20:37:46

This sums up the problem
