DS is at a friend's house for a sleepover. The mother just text me to say he's been great, they've had a great time and they had a Chinese for dinner, so I can give her the money for his meal 'tomorrow, or whenever I have it.'

She must be joking right?

Oh dear, something tells me she isn't joking!
But she is a cheeky cow!!

Have you had her child over recently?

If so, counter-bill her for anything you might have spent.

Text her back saying ' hahaha you had me for a minute then! Thought you being were serious!'

You eed to ask her if she's serious. Unless you told her she needed to order chinese, she's got a brass neck and a half.

If you reply, "Of course, how much do I owe you?" you'll find out if she's joking or not.

acasualobserver · 27/05/2016 23:54

Do what hahaha suggests - much better.

What haha said. If you have ever fed her dc it might kick in her head.

We await the response no life here

I'd give her the money and tell her to stick it where the sun doesn't shine, and while I was there. I'd also ask her for the money she owes you for entertaining and feeding her child. Assuming you have done.
Fuckin people. They sure never cease to amaze.

How rude is that?! Surely she can't be serious?!!

I have her kid at least once a week. Not necessarily for a sleepover but certainly for dinner. Hence being gobsmacked!

Jeezo. Mumsnet has really opened my eyes these last few weeks.

Some right crackpots out there.

Say that rather the give her the money, you'll just put it towards her child's meal when at yours next as usual.

bloodyteenagers · 28/05/2016 00:10

I would text back.
Are you for real or is this a piss take?

If it's for real, then I would send the following text.
I cannot believe how fucking tight some arseholes are. But seeing as this is so important to you. X meals for X weeks = x.. Finding out how tight some fuckers are is priceless. So we will call it quits and you can find
Alternative childcare cos like fuck am I having ur child again for dinner.

I've always thought of these mums as weird people you only hear of on mumsnet. This is a nice, casual, fun woman! She must be joking! I'm not going to respond and just see where it ends when I pick up tomorrow.

I'd send 'Haha, good one, glad to hear they're had a good time. See you tomorrow. X'

Send it now then come back and update :)

Act horrified. 'Whaaaat? You gave him Chinese food? But that gives him the most terrible wind. Why on earth didn't you check with me first, oh god I wouldn't want to be in your house now, better crack a window...' Etc etc.

Do not pay her. Hopefully the horror of a farty sleepover room will distract her.

In that case, long list of what her ds has eaten at yours.

She's a tit. If you having her ds is a favour to her, stop doing it.

Adrenaline I prided myself on not knowing any of these weird parents. Tonight I was let down by the parent I would least expect it from Sad

She must be joking. I'm going with that.

But if she isn't, please count it out slowly in as much loose change as you can lay your hands on. No silver or gold coins

ollieplimsoles · 28/05/2016 00:20

Shit Paul really? Would she usually joke around or does this sound like something she might do?

Report
PaulAnkaTheDog · 28/05/2016 00:21

She's not getting a penny if she's being serious! She'll be getting told in a jokey but serious tone that I'm not paying for her meal choices when she's invited my child over.
