AIBU?

AIBU to think that I have to quit my job over this typo?

I sent out an email to tens of thousands of people with "bring" instead of "being".

Should I quit in shame?

Are you ripping off inspired by a mumsnet thread format for this show?

No. I have done similar years ago and was so mortified, fessed up to the client offering to reprint at our expense etc and they didn't give a fig. I did though and had patches made for the outdoor ads to rectify the typo. It was only a little thing in the address that didn't really make much difference but I could not sleep at night knowing it was wrong Grin

I'm sure nobody else will be as bothered about this as you are Trills

I've done this. I've sent a sample sale flyer out with the wrong date on it... Twice to 15,000 people. Luckily I wasn't fired!

It could be worse. I once made a terrible, terrible mistake with the word 'discount'. I sent it in a PDFd advert to over 1,000 people.

Are you seriously bringing AIBU to the stage??

Could be worse - I emailed a client of ours once called Clinton, known as Clint.
You can guess which letter I missed off of Clint Blush

Subtle OP Hmm

You're not, but SRO Audiences is one of the shittest companies I have ever come across - THREE TIMES I have had tickets to shows at Pinewood, schlepped the whole way from London to a show having been given priority entry tickets (once I arrived two hours early to be extra sure) and then been turned away.

So you're not being unreasonable to send out a fake type but then IANBU to tell everyone else not to bother going to see the recording. Hth.

Ha, I had an email newsletter recently from LVBT (the luxury goods company). The heading should have been 'Spoil yourself...'. Unfortunately whoever wrote it missed out the 'p'!

It was nothing to do with me, but an organisation I was once connected with printed all the brochures, flyers etc. for a conference with the wrong year on. What made it worse was that the year was significant, because the conference was to mark the anniversary of a particular event, so I don't know how it wasn't noticed before going to print. A member of staff corrected them all with a black felt pen, but it looked pretty crap and gave a poor impression.

I didn't actually send this. Grin

I just received it.

And thought it would be funnier to show it to you in AIBU form rather than "look at this email I got" form.

I guess I wasn't as obvious as I thought.

That's terrible service everdene!

I've only had good experiences with them. Luckily I work near Waterloo so it's not so difficult to go to the studio there. But they've always been efficient and sensible for me.

ApplauseStore once made me wait outside in the rain for AGES because they didn't know how many seats they had so didn't know where to draw the line and send people away.

Oh hey, I would with a designer who printed a brochure with her own home phone number on the cover.

In an old job a colleague once sent a save the date email for a training event to over 10,000 people. About two minutes later a shocked gasp went round the office as one by one members of the team - most of whom had signed off on the email - realised it had the wrong year in the date. Blush

is this a way to get some free publicity to fill up your studio audience? I took four preteens to a filming of the Big Friday Download. Dreadful. I would never be in a TV studio audience again.

I have friends in a town called Fulbourn. They got a takeaway menu through the post saying the company was based in 'Full Born' Grin.

Do you reckon it would go unnoticed if you didn't fess up?
