Wtf, eating toffee and felt an almighty pop and pain, pain shooting across my jaw and ear. Just braved it out, that was last night now I'm having a hard time closing my mouth putting my teeth together, it's cracking, popping, going to the side. I've got a dull ache and ear pain and headache. Called 111 and they said I might need to have it X rayed.

I'm annoyed, I want to go to bed and sleep not sit in a and e.

I know iabu, someone tell me a horror story so I get off my lazy arise go to a and e and sort it.

Go and get it checked, maybe they'll give you something for the pain and sort it out. It sounds awful.

Gosh! YY get it checked out. Charge up phone and take a book/magazine and a drink/cash for coffee. It's a Tuesday night so hopefully not too bad!

Good luck and let us know how you get on! Xx

Ouch. Best to get it sorted out though, OP. Find a good book and get yourself to A&E or minor injuries, if you've got one.

Get it sorted asap! I had horrendous problems with my jaw when something like this was happening. Went on for months and ended up with it locking open every time I yawned or even opened my mouth too wide. Don't leave it!

If your jaw is dislocated, then you can't physically close your teeth together at all. As opposed to it being sore /uncomfortable to close your teeth together IYSWIM.
Usually if you have dislocated your jaw, it's so alarming, that you would immediately go to A+E. One of the Maxillo-facial surgeons would need to reposition the jaw with Intravenous sedation to relax everything. It needs to be repositioned fairly quickly after dislocation, that is the same day.
If this injury happened 24 hours ago, I'd be thinking you've strained your TMJ joint area /sprained jaw muscles, rather than dislocation, and would be advising you to ring your dentist as soon as.
It's really difficult to diagnose without examining though.
Pain relief -paracetamol alternated with ibuprofen (assuming you have no medical issues that prevent you from taking ibuprofen).
Also, a hot water bottle on the jaw joint can ease symptoms plus a very soft diet for 2 weeks.
In essence what I am saying is: if closing your teeth is physically impossible then go to A+E; if it is physically possible but very painful, try the above self-care,and ring your dentist or GP in the morning.
Hope this makes sense!!

Have you had surgery in that area recently (tonsils, wisdom teeth)?
Anything like that can cause your jaw joints to be tender and clicky.
Either way, you need it looked at to find out why it's happened.
