Cleaned bath with cif power and shine. Sprayed it on and then wiped with damp sponge. DD 14 months crawls in, stands up and starts licking where I've just sprayed/wiped. Called 111 and they said unlikely to cause any harm as low toxicity and she only licked it after I'd wiped. However now v paranoid. Has anyone else had a toddler do similar? Were they ok???

Dd1 sucked a cloth with Zoflora solution on after she snuck under both DH and DM's radar and found the bucket. She is 6 now and fine.

My ds2 ate a slug last week. I think toddlers must have cast iron stomachs!

My sister managed to swig Stardrops. She's still around. Your toddler isn't even trying! Grin

I ate coal and soil at that age. I'm sure she'll be fine.

DD ate a questionably poisonous plant last week, she was fine. Obviously if definitely poisonous I would have got her seen too.

I found my DS trying to eat a snail when he was a toddler. I had to remove it from his mouth & clean off all the slime - yuk. DS was absolutely fine.

You'd wiped the bath, OP & most of the stuff was gone. Your DD will be fine. Toddlers are tough little people.

My DS age 2 sat on patio and drank from a bottle of insect repellant! Luckily was 'all natural' and apart from a squitty bum was fine

2 yr old DS nearly ate a lump of cat poo last week as it looked like chocolate! He has also eaten a full tube of bonjela. I frantically googled but most things are okay in small doses thankfully!

Cif isn't toxic is it?
She'll have a lovely shiney tongue :)

You rang 111 for that? I bet they're having a good chuckle over it now (sorry)!

Daughter chewed on the spray bit of a bottle of Dettol. She has also linked a carbon monoxide detector.

I once found DS1 with the perfume bit from a plug in his mouth just before we left for nursery. He was fine but I know what it's like to worry about these things! I'm sure your DD will be fine. X

Whoops, didn't mean to add the kiss, I know it's unfavourable on MN! Have some Flowers's instead. Smile

111 is exactly the right thing to do, they contact the poisons people who look at their database and can tell you the right course of action.

DS drank some kind of dishwasher liquid at about 18 months. Id just finished a night shift and got a panicked call from my mother who was babysitting. Pleasant morning in A&E for obs but he was absolutely fine. Don't worry, things like this happen

my dd drank the minging dregs from the dishwasher in a cup that had been standing up in the dishwasher. I called 111 they said it was fine but had it been the powder or the liquid would have been very different. oh and i bounced dd1 off the bed when she was a baby Blush

Toddlers are some of the most resilient members of our society! I wouldn't worry too much if she seems fine within herself.

I'm sure no one would think any different (and this doesn't relate to cif munching op) but I know of a toddler who drank bleach and died

Have managed to stop DD2 swigging from the cleaning bottles so far .. Wasn't quite quick enough to stop her elbowing the cats out of the way to help herself to their breakfast though (she had already downed her porridge and toast!)

I drank a bottle of scent when I was 2 and complained to my mother that it was nasty.

(It was. I can remember it.)

My youngest has eaten: a small snail; bird's droppings; at least one fag end; stones; earth; sand; ash from previous night's campfire; and some wee soaked tissue her elder sibling left lying around. All of these were in a blink of an eye before I could stop her. She is hardly ever ill (thank fuck).
