I'm out the house from 8-6 (sometimes 7 or 8) five days a week for work. Now we're into the summer season I have about 2 weekends free per month when there's no wedding/hen/christening between now and October. I love exercise - weightlifting and running - but I just can't fit it in and it's making me feel bad.

Would it be possible to go early? I aim to start a run at 5.30/6am, means I'm back then in time for usual morning routine.

I probably have fewer reasons than you but I still can't do it. I was going to a class a few times a week but even that's tailed off now. I've great intentions to go walking or running. But just can't.

I do it early before the kids are up - 30 mins of i can - and 15mins core when they're asleep.
Well, I aim to. 3 and 1. Damn hard.

Following.... This is the one area of my life where I am complete failing and it bugs me. I did 20mins of prancing around the room on Thursday/Friday and realized how unfit I am but also how invigorating it felt after.

I go straight from work to the gym twice a week and then go at the weekend too.

I go to the gym in my lunch hour, I probably get about 40 minutes in there, but it's better than nothing!

Can you walk part of the way to work?

I get up at half 5 twice a week to go for a run. Sat's I do Parkrun and Sundays I do a run when I can. I try to go first thing so I have the rest of the day with the DCs.

Get to the gym for 6, workout for an hour, hit the showers and dry hair etc til like 7.30/7.45 and head to work for 8!

I go at least twice a week during lunch, 30 mins weights only to allow for shower etc. but better than nothing. I then go once a week to PT after DS in bed at 7 and do a longer session on a Sunday morning when it's DH turn to get up with DS as we then still have the rest of the day together.

DH has a similar set up with 2 week nights and a Saturday morning playing football so we've got a good routine.

I drop DS for his school coach at 7.15, get into the gym for 25-30 mins then at work by 8.30.

No idea how I would without this.

I work in an office and get half an hour lunch break. During this I go to the Quiet Room, take a yoga mat and do 30 mins yoga. (Then I eat at my desk.) In my previous job I used to go for a run before work but I was on flexi. Now I'd have to get up too early. I can't do yoga in the morning (too stiff) but then I realised that it was a waste of time to spend lunchtime at the office eating Grin.

I cycle too and from work. Awesome exercise and quicker than any other way of getting there.

I run early (before 6am ish), late (after 9pm) or at lunchtime, but 6 weeks ago I started running again and feel better than I have for ages, so I make myself go at least every 3rd day.

I go as soon as my daughter is in bed, so about 8. Means I don't really watch any tv but I can manage that.

If feasible getting some equipment at home makes things lots easier. Even if it's just a kettlebell.

You could run and /or walk at weekends . Weights a couple of times a week when you watch TV or whatever. I run 2 or 3 times a week but only 30 mins, quite easy to fit in then a long walk at the weekend. I have been known to use dumbbells to tone arms while i'm hovering over the hob. I go through phases of doing a plank every morning, 2 mins.

I run at lunchtime 2 or 3 times a week, lucky enough to have showers at work and a nice 5k x-country trail on site. Then I do a longer run on Sundays.

I'm out the house from 6:30-6:30. 2.5 hours commuting and 9 hours working.

I go to the gym at 5am or 6:30pm.

I cycle to and from work. I'd be really unfit without it.

Report

I do a class one eve a week which is 8.30-9.30 so time to do bath / bedtime beforehand.

I've just gone back to work after mat leave and feeling really unfit because I'm barely walking any more. We are trying to get out for a pushchair-free walk every other weekend but it's difficult with everything else going on!
