Absolutely livid!! DD, DH and I we're in the garden having a lovely little BBQ that btw I paid for, when DD decided to go inside and get her watering can. She proceeded to start to pour over me, I said please don't do that, I have my contact lenses in which can be dangerous with water, have my phone next to me and quite frankly I don't want to be wet. DD backed off but DH was constantly trying to splash me Angry then ever tidally DH pours the whole thing over me, blinded by the bloody water in my eye I grabbed what I thought was DH wrist and unfortunately got DD in the eye, big scratch crying her eyes out. DH proceeds to scream come here please you've seriously hurt her eye and then make me feel entirely shit about it. DD went downstairs after she calmed down and I asked DH to help me tidy uk to which he replied I want to relax right now I'll help you after to which I said well I wanted to relax in the garden and I wasn't allowed to which he continued to scream that I'm boring, miserable etc. AIBU to fucking hate him right now?!

sorry to pick up on this, but have you actually scratched your DD's eye? Her actual eye? because if you have, get her to the doctor and get it checked.

How dare he scream at you that you're boring, miserable etc (presumably within earshot of your DD)?

Her eyes red but fine now thanks. I get they were having fun, had no objection but I think I'm entitled to say that I don't want to join in.
Is he often like this? If you mean immature and always instant that I join in and if I don't I'm miserable? Yes always. But I'm the first to admit that I can be uptight. Still annoyed though and yes total wanksock

Is this really something to ask about on here? It's very personal and we don't know any of you or your family.

Absolutely hate when he calls me miserable and boring just because I don't want to do what he's does. We have very different ideas of fun

How can you be married to someone with such different ideas of fun? Seems you don't like him very much

To be fair though, you were are miserable and boring and you hurt your DD in your strop. Not sure why you've mounted a high horse.

Why is it miserable and boring to not want water thrown over you? Hmm

Sorry, still banging on about the eye - are you absolutely sure the cornea isn't scratched? Because if it is, then it really needs to be seen and she needs antibiotic drops to make sure that it can't get infected. I had a bit of tree stuck to my eyeball a few weeks back (not as dramatic as it sounds, it was a speck! but it wouldn't come out) and I ended up in A&E (was late at night), and had to see the eye doctor to check that I hadn't scratched it. I hadn't, but she STILL gave me antibiotic drops just in case.

As for the rest, no, YANBU, he's a twat.

I happen to like that we have different ideas of fun because it means that we end up doing thngs we individually wouldn't think of doing and personally it pushes me outside my comfort zone but sometimes he just doesn't know when to back off and that's what I dislike, not him.

Mind you, if there's a chemist near you, you could just get some brolene eye drops and use those instead, I expect they'd be enough to ward off any infection.

I have a thing about eyes...

Tryingtostayyoung · 07/05/2016 15:29

No I definitely think it's ok, to be sure though I'm taking her to my chemist down the road as I rang ahead and he said to bring her by.

I don't really understand why I'm miserable and boring either? I didn't want water thrown over me, I think I'm allowed to say no?

Nah really? Grin

If you're boring then so am I OP. I wouldn't have been happy about being undermined either, what kind of lesson is that teaching the bairn?

Did you mean to be so rude Nanna? Why is it that OP is 'boring' and 'miserable' just because she didn't want to get wet? I don't fancy the sound of that - she'd asked both her DD and DH not to do this, yet they persisted anyway. Sounds more like bullying than fun to me.

Tryingtostayyoung · 07/05/2016 15:38

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who wouldn't appreciate it. I find it so irritating and he just doesn't think he's done a thing wrong.

Natasha op hurt her daughter by accident. She couldn't see because she had water in her eyes, which you think she should have responded to with tinkly laughter as it is utterly hilarious, not.
