Sorry if people dont want to read this, or want to help.

I am asking as I am all personal statement fog now.

I have helped her with questions such as "promoting a culture of collaborative working, resulting in high performance and customer driven goals and objectives" and "working in an ethical way that demonstrates your personal values and goals" Wine

My niece is 18 and is applying for a pool position in a customer focussed role, the job is in a call centre and they have to reach call targets, keep personal time below a certain percentage, answer calls within 30 seconds etc...

The question she has been asked is

Experience of working in a performance driven, customer focussed environment

Can someone help with this - she is struggling to give a answer, her previous jobs have been in a cafe and as a saturday girl in retail...

At her Saturday job in retail what sort of things did she do?
Retail is target driven although there is a difference between how they work. E.g. supermarket, mobile phones or shoes.
Can you give an idea of which part of retail?

Well she has been customer focused in a cafe and in retail. She cpuld say that she has learnt from these roles rhe importance of listening to what the customer wants and work fast and efficiently to help people as quickly as possible.

Cafe - times when the cafe was full and she was under pressure to take out food and also balance taking orders and getting the bill for peopl? She could explain how she prioritised tasks.

Retail is certainly customer driven, andand the chances are she has some kind of targets even if they were not formal. Was she expected to serve customers quickly? Did she have sales targets - or did the store have sales targets that she contributed towards? Did she have to direct customers, or answer their questions? Did she/the store ever receive praise for good service?

Cafe - even though washing dishes it was important to do this to keep fresh supply of clean crockery for customers and it was about recognising how important this was in the overall customer experience. Links to how working as an effective team member, no matter what your role, means that you perform better for customers?

Is this a UCAS statement? Who's given her these questions?

She folded clothes, restacked clothes and put the new lines out, helped in the clean up of the shop floor etc...

She may not have had a personal target but the shop did.
She contributed to this by merchandising the store to encourage the customer to browse. She knows that taking care of the stock means it is able to be sold at full price, ensuring more profit for the store and a valuable contribution to the store target.
She kept the store clean and tidy promoting a great customer experience as well as awareness of potetial hazards in line with health and safety.

In the cafe if there are no clean plates then food cannot be served to new customers. Customer wait time goes up and so do complaints. By working in the most efficient way she has enabled the front of house staff to expediate service.
