Confused

I can't think of a single topic which has caused more bun fighting on here than baby ear piercing. The vast majority (I'd guess at least 80% ??) of Mumsnetters have really strong feelings against this practice.

What an odd choice!

I doubt anyone is going to hold it against the sweet baby. Hmm

Agreed. I hate them in babies, btw.

Yes, very odd choice/

That is a scrumptious baby.

Perhaps the baby belongs to someone at MNHQ?

But she is the most gorgeous baby...who cares if her ears are pierced?!

I agree it's an odd choice given all the bun fights.

I don't think anyone's disagreeing that she's cute.

The photo is for a "discussion of the day" so I assume there'll be a new photo tomorrow. Perhaps MN are going to deliberately use photos referencing controversial topics. Tomorrow: Shoes on Carpet, Next Week: Harley Davidson in P&C parking.

That's a very cute baby.

"I doubt anyone is going to hold it against the sweet baby. hmm "

Agreed.

But what do you think of HQ's thinking Paul?

I may offer them a photo of my toilet brush Zachary Grin

Tiggeryoubastard · 04/05/2016 12:15

That does seem a really silly choice.

I could send them a photo of my cutlery drawer.

Or someone's DH, wanking off to porn Grin

Ok I accept I've gone way to far Blush

I think they posted a picture of a cute baby because it was sweet and quite rightly didn't hold her having her ears pierced against her. The bun fights are to do with parents piercing young babies ears, the parenting. It wouldn't have even occurred to me that someone would make a thread about this because it's just a picture of a cute baby.

Is there a picture of a toddler with a fruit shoot and a bowl of coco pops perhaps?

NannawifeofBaldr · 04/05/2016 12:25

Paul I'm with you.

It's a picture of a very beautiful child, that's all.

Perhaps some Facebook glittery shite and some Aloe gel?

A penis beaker. Or some pombears. Or a cutted up pear.

MN is for everyone not just what posters deem acceptable.

I still don't understand all this about "holding it against the baby". A really obtuse thing to say.

No one blames babies for having pierced ears, surely? Not even the seriously hard of thinking.

I wonder if the gorgeous baby's Mum in on this site?

I think what I mean is pretty obvious. I also don't think this thread is actually very nice either. Some parent is probably very happy that their baby's picture is being used. I imagine they'd be quite hurt if they saw this thread; where people are comparing it to mumsnet no-nos and standing jokes. Light hearted comments or not, they are off the back of a picture of a child, not just some hypothetical thread on the internet.

If I was marketing something and using a pic of a baby, given a choice of pierced or unpierced I'd go for the unpierced. Guess I'd prefer the non piercing parent to profit rather than the one that puts holes in a child.

Knowing MNers, there is no image that could be posted that wouldn't offend someone.
