AIBU?

To mourn the demise of the colourful bathroom.

When I was little, I always wanted to buy colourful loo paper to clash with go in the bathroom (beigey-green coloured suite, possibly avocado, my memory is a bit hazy). My mum refused, as it was "common" to have coloured paper, and would only ever buy white.
My mum did say that when I was grown up and had my own bathroom, I could choose whatever coloured paper I wanted.

Well here I am, all grown up with my own house, 2 DC of my own, and I can't indulge my inner child DC by buying green paper one week, pink the next, blue the next etc. We can only choose white or tasteful cream, or buff paper enriched with cocoa and shea butter, and where's the fun in that?

AIBU to secretly crave a return to the days of the coloured bathroom suite and matching loo paper?

YANBU. At all. We had a pale yellow bathroom in our first house. It always felt warm and sunny in there.

I bet coloured bathroom suites will come back in fashion.
We have lurid pink loo roll at work - probably to stop the staff nicking it - but goodness knows where they get it from.

Don't buy white. Very bad for the environment. Tsk tsk

I tried to get a yellow suite when we did our bathroom last year. Sadly I had to abandon the idea because it was too expensive to get one made (and I didnt fancy a secondhand loo etc). I do think coloured suites will have a revival soon tho.

Our bathroom suite is boring white - replacing the dark brown one (really)- which was here when we moved in, but the walls are a lovely fresh minty green so quite bright and cheerful.

I remember being taught in brownies how to make paper roses from pink loo roll (has to be loo roll as the petal shapes are made from pulling the layers of paper apart). I thought a combination of pink and peach roses was incredibly cool. I decorated anything I could find in loo paper roses. Doesn't look the same with white or off white. I have tried. So no. YANBU.

I once lived in a house with a pink bathroom suite and black wall tiles. Loved it.

Coloured loo-roll makes some women's fanjos sore - pink & green are the worst.

White is bleached; coloured is bleached first then dyed.

I remember making paper flowers with lurid coloured loo-roll Grin

Dementedma my parents had a brown suite in the 80s.
My grandma had avocado which I hated but my other gran had blue which I loved because it was like having a bath in a pool.
Totally bored of boring white.

We had a lovely sky blue bathroom suite growing up, I loved it! I haven't seen a coloured suite for years now.

I'd love a coloured bathroom suite. One of my friends has a beautiful blue one, a relic from the 70s, sadly
On its way out, but I covet it anyway.

I used to get lilac loo roll from macro, I loved it.
Our first bathroom suite was navy blueShock it was awful, showed every soap & toothpaste mark. Couldn't wait to rip it out!

I love it when you can get Christmas toilet rolls, Snowman and Snowdog last year. You ought to stock up on loads of those type next Christmas.

You can buy it from these people but at £7 a roll I don't think I'll be buying too many!

while the suite is white, the rest of my bathroom is a tasteful(!!??) lilac and yellow combo.... it was like that when we moved in, we have toned it down a bit, but there are just more pressing jobs that need doing, and i'm getting kind of used to it, after 6 1/2 years
