To feel guilty

Long story short, DH has been away for the weekend and I've been flying solo with the 2 DC. The 18 month old has been clinging to me like a monkey all weekend and demanding I sit and watch cbeebies continuously with her, only to cry when hungry but not let me cook. The 5 year old has been a little git from start to finish, demanding food and when offered a banana/apple a complete meltdown happens about not wanting "that" (ffs there are starving children in the world and you're crying over being offered a banana). I feel like crap, my throat is killing me and there are white spots on my tonsils.

Obviously I'm in bed because I'm exhausted, DH has told me about his weekend, which he never does so I pretended to be interested, then he tries "cuddle" me. I told him to stop, I feel rubbish, someone has been attached to me all weekend, I'm bloody fed up with everyone, leave. Me. Alone. He's now gone downstairs to watch TV and I feel guilty, why?

Because you're trying to be all things to all people and you can't.

You honestly need the personal space, as long as that's explained, rather than just a rebuff, this doesn't need a second thought.

You can 'celebrate' being together again, in the week.

By cuddle do you mean he wanted sex? You sound knackered, you need a break, I don't blame you for stopping him. Does he know how tired and unwell you are? Why feel guilty?
