It so gorgeous Derek it really really is, I would adore living there but really? £15,000 a month?! I honestly can't wrap my head around it!

and I have the audacity to whinge about paying £625

Can you imagine how rich you'd have to be??

That kind of place most often gets paid for by a company for expat staff.

I went round a house that was as immaculate as that, though not quite as expensively done, and in a much tattier area (that I could potentially afford). TBH I just felt that once I'd moved in it would look really crap.

Having said that, if they put it on at 2% of that cost, I would consider it Grin

That's 182,000 a year on living arrangements. You could buy 3 of our new house for that Grin

My interest only mortgage was £90k a year but that was much further out in outer London. It's all about location in London. Simple market forces. You get what you pay for. If no one will rent at that amount the landlord will reduce the rent.

It's all relative isn't it? If someone that rich wants it then it's worth it to them I s'pose..

Sadly not uncommon. Quite a lot of people in central London really do have unfeasibly large amounts of cash.

Think diplomats and the likes. Higher up ones generally get a free, huge 'residence' free of charge bc it (sometimes) has to be used as a reception venue for parties, visiting dignitaries etc.

I hope that the house comes with staff at that price.

I think that its the location (near Regents Park) that put the price up. I doubt that the same sized property in Peckham would cost that much.

I think I'll take both. The OP's appartment will be my pad in town, and the one GoldPlatedBacon linked to will do as my country home. I take it is is in the country somewhere? The link I saw just took me to photos, not the full listing, so I've no idea where it is. But I'll take it anyway.

Op, yes it would be cheaper to stay in a Travelodge for eternity, but who the hell would want to?!! Grin I saw one once - they're grim!

bacon that one is just tacky. Looks like the kind of house Katie Price would live in.

Oh. My. God.

I mean what kind of employment would you need to do to realistically be able to afford this?

It's so lovely! I'm never usually too bothered by property porn places, but I love that.

London is crazy.

Hm, these overpriced ansions don't really do it for me. I find them totally soulless. Show me a good old rustic, wood and stone-filled farm cottage any day!!
