Our kids won't believe that he was so beautiful. I remember my mum telling me that Marlon Brando used to be beautiful and I couldn't understand it.

Everyone ages, age can be a beautiful thing itself. It's just with JD, he had a bit of an ethereal, 'different' vibe that was so appealing. He seemed like a nice guy.
