AIBU?

To be annoyed at husband taking twenty minute showers?

Anyone else think this is unreasonable? Each morning he will stand in the shower for at least 20 mins. I think it's an obscenity given the amount of water that's used. I know I'm not BU....just venting.

Are we sharing the same husband?
Tho I actually timed mine and it's less than 10 minutes, but he does have the temperature set at "scald" so it uses all the hot water

That does seem very long. I usually take 10 minutes and that's including a few minutes of swaddling there.

Daily 20 min showers are a bit of a luxury really. I may take 20 mins every third shower as I'll do my legs and wash and condition my hair, but the other times the hair is up in a top knot and the legs are still bald. Then I'm in and out in 5mins.

Are his lengthy showers having an effect on getting everyone out of the house on time? Are you on a water meter?

Better this than the zero minute shower which seems to a problem for many MN posters.

How long is his hair? If I have to wash mine it takes a good 20 minutes (though admittedly it's only every other day I need to wash my hair, the other days I'm in and out in ten minutes tops)

That shower gel is heinous round the nether regions. Like some form of torture.

Ah DH did this before the shower broke. I was so relieved, we might actually get out on time in the morning for once!

Then he started taking hour-long baths Hmm

My husband has hour long baths after work- conveniently the busiest time for me with doing tea, washing bottles, lifting kids to various clubs etc

My shower last night took from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.

so yeah... 20 minutes seems short to me.

I learnt the hard way not to use mint shower gel on my bits during my annual shave Grin

A friend of mine takes 40 minute showers! What do people actually do for that long? I would be terribly bored.

Are you sure he is only having a wash? Wink

YANBU!!

I can get myself and both the kids ready in the time it takes DH to get ready. I've got used to it but there are some mornings where I wish I could take things at a leisurely pace.

Hmm if someone told me how long my showers could or should be that would irritate me and I would be tempted to take longer. I am petty about that though Grin

Mine does too - but then hassles me to hurry up when I take more than 2 minutes, and I have long hair to wash too unlike him!! Also given that I am imminently about to give birth to his child I doubt I'll get to enjoy any long showers for a bloody long time to come so it doubly p's me off!

Seems pretty normal to me. Mine are around 20 minutes. Wash and condition hair every day plus shave and exfoliate - easily 20 mins.

20 minutes really isn't that long Confused

YABcompletelyU .... Poor bloke!
Who are you? the shower police? Do you try and control other aspects of his life too?

Maybe he locks himself in there for 20 mins of peace and a cheeky wank!

YABU, what is it to you? I take daily 40 min baths while DH looks after our newborn and would not appreciate being timed.

Without being rude, I don't think he's just washing. Obvious don't know the full back story but, if you have mismatched libidos, he may be "relieving" himself.

YABU, I would not be impressed if DH told me how long I was allowed to stay in the shower.
