Obviously this is lighthearted - but strolling through Tesco earlier I thought how much nicer it would be if the staff had a touch of glamour about them - supermarket shopping is such a boring drudge isn't it, & I for one would be so cheered up if the staff were a bit more 'Hollywood' - obviously it doesn't have to be the full Audrey Hepburn or James Bond - but maybe a step up from dowdy overalls.

Yes, I think this is a common view held by the masses. A bit of Pan-am glamorous with weight and height limits would go a long way towards enhancing the whole retail experience. Have you thought about writing to the head office of your preferred store?

I don't know, I'd be really just be very grateful if the stock replenishers in my little local tesco could stretch to a daily shower and deodorant to be honest. Maybe the polyester uniforms don't help.

Having worked in a superrmarket and wearing the gorgeous uniform of blue blouse with fruit on and a very fetching navy skirt I can say that we looked a lot more glam than some of the customers. I mean the woman who was standing anxiously ay 7.55 am every morning waiting for the clock to chime 8 so she could pay for her daily rations of booze was very well turned out in puke stained hoodie and piss stained trackies
The man who was her +1 also well turned out, stinking of urine last nights booze and clothes UGH.
Someone's precious princess who threw bottles of red wine at staff because she had no id that was another example of catwalk glam.
No the staff are dressed for the job, albeit in polyester rubbish. The uniform has to be puke proof and alcohol proof and look stunning amongst the general public. A decent tango orange fleece is a garment to behold on a cold dark morning

My old Woolies uniform was great, it was one size fits no one tubular pinafore which had buttons down the side which if you brushed past anything came undone. Therefore you had to use safety pins to pin it up if you didn't want some wag leering at you.

On the whole I would have just settled for more practical.
