Does anyone get like this?

You are happy for the person but there's just something that wishes it was you again?!

I've one of each aged 1 and 3! My hands are full.

I'm 38 so there will be no more dc!

I did had a silent mc a few months back, got to 12 weeks, awful shock.

I feel awful that I feel like this when people announce pregnancy.

Is it just me?

YANBU (as long as you don't show it!).

I get it. I don't even want another, but I still get that pang!

YANBU. But if you're anything like me, you are envious of the initial pregnancy announcement 'excitement' and the inevitable fawning that follows, rather than the actual reality of having another child. Grin

Shit...I missed the MC bit. So sorry. I've also been in this position. It's awful. Thanks for you, OP.

Me!! Every fucking time! Mine are 6 and 10 and the pangs havent stopped. I'd really love another but long term single so not gonna happen any time soon. Will have to live vicariously through friends.

No. I am so glad this part of my life is over.

I don't get this either. I feel grateful it isn't me, I am terrible at being pregnant, I hate every minute of it.

I got this pang when my baby was much less than six months old. A part of me will always wish I was pregnant, which sounds crazy!

I get this, like a knot on my tummy that lasts a second, it is for the excitement of the announcement, the waiting, the fun and emotion surrounding a birth announcement, then bam, back to real life but you have a baby!

Not with the pregnancy announcement - generally just excited for them but have a colleague due her first in 3 weeks & when I was talking to her the other day the thought of newborn snuggles gave me the pang.
I'm 36, split up with h last year so am definitely finished but can't wait to meet him/her

I was told of the pregnancy of a woman ive never met tonight and i got the pang. Its not the pregnancy i crave its the new baby. All squishy and edible and lovely smelling. And the pram!

YANBU

I get this too. Would love love love another DC but it's just not financially or logistically possible for us.
When people announce pregnancies I do tend to get a very fleeting moment of sadness but it evaporates pretty quickly when I remember how much giving birth hurts Wink

I get this too, even though I am soooo done. Funnily enough, I don't get it when I hear the baby announcement, just the pregnancy Confused

No not at all - I'm so done! In fact if it's their first I feel a teeny tiny bit sorry for them Blush I love a pregnancy or birth announcement, I'm interested but not at all envious !

Never ever had it through my 20s when i was having my first 3.
Certainly never had it once they were all at primary school age.
Began to have it when DH2 and i got together and um'd and ah'd about trying together.
Got it baaaaadly after my mc.
Now we've had lovely DD4 (2.4) it's gone again. Totally. Forever i expect. Thank god.

In fact i actually feel slight pity when i hear an announcement now! Grin

I don't wish I was pregnant again (no thanks to morning sickness!!) but... I remember when I knew I was done making babies, youngest about 2yo, and I'd see pg women & think "Oi, what do you think you're playing at. I'm done, why are you carrying on?"

Daft I tell you. I got over it. :)

I get the pang too, but it's the same when people get engaged as well.

I genuinely don't want to do either thing again, and I'm thankful for the positive experiences I had, bit I think there's something kind strange about knowing those major life events are over and done with.

My kids are teens,I really don't want another child, but I bumped into a woman I used to work with who is the same age as me and she was pregnant.I have no idea why,but after seeing her I really wanted to cry.

I feel a weird mix of envy and feeling a bit sorry for them.

I loved being pregnant and enjoyed giving birth and now I love having my toddler but I found the first 6-8 months or so just unbearably hard. Just horrible I was really unwell mentally. So it gives me flashbacks to that a bit, if it's their first.

I used to have the pang for about 8 years after I gave birth to my last.

Once the door to having more had really clanged shut, I don't have the pang, in fact, I feel sorry for them!

I think it's easier once you know it's not an option (even if it's really not an option anyway).

I didn't like being pregnant or giving birth. Really found the toddler and pre-school years hard. Love having school-aged kids. I have nightmares I'm pregnant. Thankfully they are just that, DH had a vasectomy years ago and I'm 45, so I'll never be pregnant again, whew!

The one time I ever saw a 'bfp' without fertility treatment, I had a terrible tummy bug and had a mc a few weeks later. So part of me is jealous of people who have that early excitement.

But that's totally silly because I have two kids and don't want any more!
