We have recently moved into a new house. I am a pretty poor sleeper and my OH is s heavy snorer. So I often end up in spare room. (He works ridiculous hours. Im a stay at home mum so I prefer to just move rather than disturb him). Anyway the new house has had the usual snag list problems and building company have been great.
However over the last 2 nights the rain has been heavy and it's causing really heavy droplet sounds on the window of the ensuite in the spare room. It's been loud enough to wake me for the last 2 nights. The loud dripping continues aprox every 15 seconds. (It's like Chinese torture).
I've explained problem to OH who has basically implied the problem is my light sleeping and not the dripping. I think it needs looking at, he is reluctant to add it to the snag list. (So basically it's not an issue).
I'm tired, hormonal, 6 months pregnant do up and down needing the loo through the night. I'm usually pretty rationale but I'm ready to flip. AIBU to insist OH to sleeps in spare room until it's sorted ( next people to stay will be his parents and I know his mum will not be able to sleep if it rains) Last night I ended up climbing in with my son (not ideal as I'm constantly up to go the loo and don't want to disturb him)
We have 2 other spare rooms 1 for the nursery and one is a bit of a dumping ground. So I guess I really feel like I don't have anywhere that I can relax, nap, sleep.
Sorry for long post. Lack of sleep is making me ramble Confused

Has he checked if the gutter is blocked?

That sounds an absolute pain. Could you secure an old towel to hang outside the window to dampen the sound, at least until you get it looked at properly? That might help to at least make it a bit quieter, temporarily?

That's a good idea, or maybe stick a long piece of sponge to the windowsill?

Ha ha you all read my mind, last night before I moved I actually folded a towel up and put it on the window ledge. But because the rain was so heavy and I had to have the window open to balance the towel it ended up soaking the bathroom.
It really shouldn't be blocked as the house was only finished last month. We only actually moved on 3 weeks ago. I think their is an issue but he doesn't ConfusedConfusedConfused
