AIBU to go to the doctors

For the last few days my arms and legs have felt 'odd'. They feel heavy, achey (but not painful) and just feel like they don't work properly. They do work properly but just feel strange (even when typing/ holding steering wheel/ walking etc)

I have been anaemic before and it doesn't feel like that. I do feel tired but it feels different. I have taken double dose of my vitamin tablets with iron for last 2 days in case but feel no different (but this would probably take longer to be fair)

I've got a gammy eye too so probably run down

I've booked a doctors appointment this morning but do you think AIBU as they'll just tell me I'm run down?

I think you are just run down unfortunately so doubt the Dr can do anything. I always get this before I come down with a cold. Can you rest next couple of days, nice hot bath etc?

I get this when I'm due period or a cold. It's a weird feeling!

Best go to the doctor anyway. They never believe there's anything wrong with you the first time around so if it might be something more then at least you're establishing when the problem started.

south it's weepy, swollen and itchy. DH gets stys and thinks it could be that but nothing's come up yet. My eyes are never really affected when I'm ill

Unfortunately I have a busy week which is why I wanted to get checked out first. DS was ill with a chest infection last week so thought I could be getting ill but I feel fine (apart from tired and woolly). It's such a strange feeling

Are you near a pharmacist, so they can have a look at your eye and advise whether you need a GP appointment?

If the appointments are plentiful where you are, then just go to the GP.

The feelings in your limbs, could just be viral, your immune system struggling etc.

birds yes there's a pharmacy. Im not too fussed about my eye and wouldn't of gone to the doctors just for that. It my arms and legs I'm worried about

Yes lots of appointments so I'm going to go. But I'm sure you're all right and I'll just be told to rest

I felt very odd just prior to christmas but was told it was just a virus. A few days later I was struggling to breathe and was taken to the doctors again. It was whooping cough and it has taken me ages to get over it as I am in my early fifties. I had to take anti-biotics because my dd was pregnant, unfortunately it was too late and she caught it. We were both vaccinated.

If your instincts are telling you something is wrong, do go. I am glad I did and to be fair, surgeries get a bad press, but my doctor rang me each week for a month or so to see how I was progressing.

I don't wish to alarm you but those are the initial symptoms I had when I had a cervical disc pressing on
My spinal cord. I didn't have pain so they fobbed me off as a 'virus' for 3 months, then told me it was possible MS then finally did an Mri to find I was a few mm off being paralysed from the neck down.
Any pins and needles? I had them if I stamped my feet, or went up stairs.
I just had an achey kind of feeling and loss of strength in my grip then one day I found I couldn't walk in a straight line so went to A&E, ended up in a wheelchair, and they admitted me, finally!

I am fine now, they operated and removed the disc.

I really do not wish to scare you, but just make sure they asses your spine, as it could be physical rather than viral. But it's probably viral so don't worry.

I get numbness and puns and needles in my arms a lot, been Drs several times and they don't know what it is. They are saying its "probably" because I have low blood pressure at the moment. Best go get checked.

Your eye sounds a bit like conjunctivitis so beat get that cheeked too.

WicksEnd I also got sent for an MS test. I can't even wash my work tops down or wash my hair in the shower without it starting.

As expected doctor thinks it's vital and just said paracetamol and fluids (although I have no real pain )

Drops for my eye for allergic conjunctivitis

Will just have to see what happens
