my cousin is on holiday
it's been step by step status update
"in taxi"
"at airport flying to x"
"at airport"
at hotel
at various attractions, restaurants etc... lots of pics - like seeing these
but the latest is
"eating vegetable noodles"
am so tempted to reply "seriously?" but then i'd get grief from her/my aunty etc...

i mean AIBU ?????

Delete FB?

TeddTess Sun 03-Apr-16 11:23:56

by the way she is 48. if that is relevant.... not a kid

TeddTess Sun 03-Apr-16 11:24:59

but i don't want to delete FB
i like seeing what my friends, relatives etc are up to.

i could delete just her but that seems a bit extreme, i like keeping in touch with my relatives like this, makes such a difference when you see her

just don't know why she thinks all this is relevant? it's weird...

PhilPhilConnors Sun 03-Apr-16 11:26:04

Unfollow them.
I have most FB friends hidden. I don't want to see:
What they're eating
What their freshly painted nails look like
Wanky motivational positivity crap
Every single thing their child is doing/saying/wearing
Any reference to Younique

Life's too short. Hide them.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza Sun 03-Apr-16 11:26:20

She's excited to be on holiday I guess.

I'd hide her updates.

Savagebeauty Sun 03-Apr-16 11:26:53

Just hide and move on.

fuzzywuzzy Sun 03-Apr-16 11:27:04

Hide her updates? Remove the following her bit so you don't see her updates?

MoreGilmoreGirls Sun 03-Apr-16 11:27:21

You can hide her updates from your news feed so you don't gave to delete her and she won't know. Just get one of her updates up in your news feed and top right corner there is an options box. Think it says hide this...

Facebook is not compulsory.

FB is what you make it. Unfollow the annoying people.

LastOneDancing Sun 03-Apr-16 11:28:12

Ah, She's excited! Her holuday updates beat posts trying to flog you aloe shite or '1 like = 1 prayer'!!!

Just temporarily stop following her until she's home if it annoys you.

LittleBearPad Sun 03-Apr-16 11:29:06

I'm afraid I'd have to post something sarcastic but I'm not nice.

Sirzy Sun 03-Apr-16 11:29:22

Hide her then. I like seeing about other peoples holidays

ilovesooty Sun 03-Apr-16 11:29:24

Just hide her. If she's annoying you, you can do something to address the issue.

AntiquityReRises Sun 03-Apr-16 11:29:46

Just sounds excited to me. Just hide her updates if it's having a negative emotional effect on you.

MigGril Sun 03-Apr-16 11:29:51

Hide her updates. But I still don't get why people do this when on holiday.

Is not a smart thing to do your telling people your not at home even if it's just people on your friends list. It can actually invalidate your home insurance if you have a brake in while your not there.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve Sun 03-Apr-16 11:30:31

Just scroll past. I don't use the status update function on fb. I just add the odd photo and I've been defriended by loads of people over the years, you can't win on fb!

usual Sun 03-Apr-16 11:33:11

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

juls1888 Sun 03-Apr-16 11:42:34

One of my colleagues used to do that. Never ever posted then when she was on holiday it was a blow by blow account. She got deleted.
My brother is away at the moment, there's been so many pictures posted I feel I'm on holiday with him. Luckily my cousin and sister pointed this out to him before I had to lol.

PPie10 Sun 03-Apr-16 11:51:51

Don't be miserable, she seems excited about her holiday. You can unfollow her but you enjoy it don't you.

ReadyPlayerOne Sun 03-Apr-16 11:56:07

She's excited maybe? I would be if I were going on holiday given that I never go abroad. I might not post every five seconds on Facebook, but to each their own.

And you can just ignore them. Or unfollow her for a bit. You have options.

Personally I only unfriend people of Facebook for posting racist shit or the odd two who've tried to get me involved with Forever Living shite and wouldn't listen to a polite "no thank you".

MrsJayy Sun 03-Apr-16 11:57:53

Least she isnt saying AMEN or spamming your feed with beautiful body in 12 hours type shite she is on holiday she is excited and happy hide her so you csn find something else to be miserable about grin

mellybythesea Sun 03-Apr-16 12:00:02

I don't know how Facebook is such a massive part of people's lives, tbh. A symptom of a crumbling society.

SmallCarrot Sun 03-Apr-16 12:01:41

her next status will probably be 'gutted, we've been burgled'

differentnameforthis Sun 03-Apr-16 12:03:22

It's relevant to her, and it's her page, so she can post what she likes.

You can hide her, which means you won't see her updates on your feed, but you can still go to her page & see what she is up to.
