On hold now. No one seems to know basic stuff.
Do you still get more money for working over 30 hours?

Does term time work need averaging out over 52 weeks?

I can't remember if you get more money for over 30 hours but I know if you work term time only it will need averaging out over a year. I hate ringing, they're so unhelpful and all tell you different things.

Make sure you take notes, the time and name of the person you speak to and which call centre. Clarify everything they say!!

Term time doesn't need averaging out. I just checked gov website

There is a 30 hour element yes.

Well he told me the 30 hour element is just for couple now and doesn't make any difference to claim. I told him I thought he might be wrong and took his name.
I've just used online gov tax creds calculator with same salary etc and if I put 30 hours instead of 16 I get more.

Maybe "only one 30 hour element per couple" has confused him?
