NDN using vibrator every bloody 15 mins!

For the past 45 minutes I've been able to hear what sounds very much like a vibrator being used. It starts up buzzing for about 15 minutes, then stops for a bit, then starts again. hmm I can't think what on earth else it might be.

I'm so glad NDN are getting their rocks off but it's late, and I am 7 months pregnant and struggle to sleep as it is without having to listen to buzzing half the night. I've never heard it before and oddly I can't hear any other (accompanying) sounds!

AIBU to bang on the wall and spoil their fun?!

Bloody hell, are your walls made of paper or something...? grin

BaronessBomburst Tue 29-Mar-16 01:52:06

I'm pretty sure vibrators aren't THAT noisy to be heard through the wall?!
😂

TiffanyAtBreakfast Tue 29-Mar-16 01:56:21

Well you would think not, but what else could it be? Heard some variation in speed and everything. wink

Our walls aren't the most soundproof I suppose, a row of mid terraced, old-ish houses. Just told DH and he thinks it's hilarious that I am awake listening to it!

But for 15 mins at a time? shock

TiffanyAtBreakfast Tue 29-Mar-16 02:09:12

I know, isn't it bizarre? They just finished another short burst. Enjoying the peace.

Ask if you can join in, it may help your mood.

Have you tried ear plugs?

Alisvolatpropiis Tue 29-Mar-16 02:23:04

Awkward on so many levels!

Pivoine Tue 29-Mar-16 02:32:41

How do you know it's a vibrator? Might it possibly be a lady shave?

Toadinthehole Tue 29-Mar-16 02:34:28

Maybe your NDNs collect vintage vibrators and they're trying out their recently-purchased 1840 Boulton & Watt model with double-entry steam circular motion.

Fnarrr!

HidingUnderARock Tue 29-Mar-16 02:34:40

Could be an epilator.
They are scary and sometimes you need a 15 minute break to get up the courage for the next bit.

That.

Every. Bloody. Time.

Battery operated hard skin debrider for feet? They make quite a bit of noise.

Daffodil90 Tue 29-Mar-16 03:08:38

Electric breast pump?

The first one I tried was pretty noisy.

If not, they're obviously having a whale of a time!

BoboChic Tue 29-Mar-16 03:15:54

There are tons of rechargeable gadgets that buzz these days - hand-held vacuums, Clarisonics, epilators...

snorzzzzz Tue 29-Mar-16 03:18:59

I've been using an ancient (borrowed) handheld massager on my back tonight. I have to stop every 10 minutes as it starts to overheat.

It's not me, though. Honest!

Roddas Tue 29-Mar-16 04:12:01

Might be a nebuliser?
Or a breast pump though.

giraffesCantReachTheirToes Tue 29-Mar-16 05:40:52

Oh fuck if a nebuliser sounds like a vibratory through a wall then my neighbours must think I am on heat

WhattaMunter Tue 29-Mar-16 06:03:15

Could be an iPhone which is on silent but vibrate? And someone is pestering her? Alarm going off and she's hitting snooze?

CakeThat Tue 29-Mar-16 06:06:29

One of those little gadgets that shave the bobbles off woolly jumpers? Perhaps she can't sleep and is going through her wardrobe? tbugrin

Klaptout Tue 29-Mar-16 06:09:23

Bit of an unusual time for beauty treatments?
I'd guess at a mobile phone set on vibrate, Breast pump, nebuliser or the electric pump on a pressure sore mattress.
Giraffe, I had to tell my neighbours about my nebuliser as I was too embarrassed to use the bloody thing after DH suggested they would assume it was a vibrator.

My new milk frother could be mistaken for vibrator noise. With all my insomnia driven hot drinks, my neighbours could think I am a right goer.

BettyBi0 Tue 29-Mar-16 06:17:46

What kind of ages are the people next door?

3littlefrogs Tue 29-Mar-16 06:35:51

Oh dear. I've got an epilator and a scholl thing to do my feet AND a foot spa that has a vibrate setting.

I am going to have to start using all of them in the kitchen extension (no adjoining wall).
