to be irrationally angry that the weather is going to be crap for Easter weekend

That's it really. I've been looking forward to it. We have plans, mostly outdoor stuff such as an Easter Egg Hunt at a lovely place. Anything indoors will be packed and nasty. Praying they've got it wrong......

Definitely not U. Its been lovely. We've been planning heading to the caravan tonight and its pouring down and blowing a gale. Personally if its like this I want to stay at home but DS has SN and has his heart set on it and been counting down the sleeps since Christmas. Lots of warm layers I guess and many arguments with us stuck in a confined space hmm wine.

Yup me too we were going to do an egg hunt in the garden and a trip to the coast. And now it's just rain, rain and more rain. Oh well at least our plan to go to the cinema isn't spoilt hmm

Tbf it's crap most years. The odd it's glorious.

Lottapianos Thu 24-Mar-16 07:44:30

I know, its total bulllshit. We're going to visit in laws and will go mental if we're stuck in the house all day. May have to go for some very wet walks!

i can only remember one nice easter when i was at school so nearly thirty years ago my dad built a patio and i sunbathed in the garden it must have been late that yr ds goes too the south of france on saturday not me though umfortunatley.

TheWoodenSpoonOfMischief Thu 24-Mar-16 07:46:52

Yeah me too. I've booked a rare weekend away so I'm hoping we get out and about. Although we ll still go even if it does rain, it's obviously better if it doesn't.

Stick to your plans. Just get your Wellies and raincoats on.

It's the law in the UK. Bank holiday = weather must be shit angry

Sirzy Thu 24-Mar-16 07:47:26

We are going on a 4 day caravan break to the coast! Went out yesterday to buy new wellies and raincoats! Will have fun no matter what but dry weather would be better

MajesticSeaFlapFlap Thu 24-Mar-16 07:48:15

It's going to be shit. It's my fault, I've book a caravan by the sea.

Never mind we haven't been away anywhere for years due to ds2s shit health and no cash and we were all looking forward to a long weekend together.

Least I didn't book a tent pitch...

OhYouBadBadKitten Thu 24-Mar-16 07:51:14

yanbu.

ThornyBird Thu 24-Mar-16 07:52:43

YADNBU

It wouldn't feel so bad if it hadn't been so nice for the past couple of weeks sad

OneLove10 Thu 24-Mar-16 07:53:23

Yanbu, planned a few nice outings which now all have to be cancelled. So sick of this weather!!angry

ssd Thu 24-Mar-16 07:57:12

YANBU at all

the kids are in school all the time then when they get time of it chucks it down

its so unfair

CutYourHairAndGetAJob Thu 24-Mar-16 08:01:28

I am considering starting an online petition saying that if it rains on a bank holiday the next Monday should be a rollover

SaucyJack Thu 24-Mar-16 08:05:03

Look- we've all lived in Britain for long enough to know never, ever to make weather dependent plans more than two days in advance.

You only have yourselves to blame.

Savagebeauty Thu 24-Mar-16 08:11:25

Perfect excuse for me to read all day on Easter Sunday, which is the dullest day of the year for me. Kids are teens and everyone's visiting family for lunch.

EricNorthmanSucks Thu 24-Mar-16 08:15:03

I must admit my displeasure at not being able to take a holiday to sunnier climes this Easter due to bloody exams, yet again!

When my DC leave for university I intend to spend the whole of March/ April in the tropics grin.

In the meantime I shall curse the shitty British weather.

CocktailQueen Thu 24-Mar-16 08:17:27

Easter was gorgeous and hot in 2007 when I had a newborn, I do remember that. better than the summer that year

But YANBU. The forecast does look pants.

LittleLionMansMummy Thu 24-Mar-16 08:21:01

It looks even worse this morning! We're going to the coast in our caravan too and it pretty much looks like tomorrow will be OK then rain and wind every day! Aaarrrgggghhhh!!!!!! Yadnbu.

Sirzy Thu 24-Mar-16 08:23:59

As frustrating as it is though surely if you book a Caravan holiday in March you have to be prepared for less than ideal weather?

x2boys Thu 24-Mar-16 08:30:19

was it cocktail ds was born on boxing day 2006 i cant remember ?

heron98 Thu 24-Mar-16 08:30:32

YANBU. I'm heading back home to my parents in the Lake District and had planned a few days of mountain biking in the hills. Not so sure now...

LittleLionMansMummy Thu 24-Mar-16 08:44:53

We live in East Anglia Sirzy - there's usually a fair chance that you'll get at least some good weather at some point during the course of a few days. We were barbecuing last Easter Sunday. I suppose our choices are stay at home and be bored, wondering what the hell to do with ds (same choices week in week out), or take a chance, pack our wellies and rain coats and at least try to do something different. Still pisses me off that it'll rain for three days solid though!

CocktailQueen Thu 24-Mar-16 08:45:28

Yes, x2boys - one of the few things I remember from ds's early weeks! grin
