It's even worse if you read the product description:

"Reborn baby in the womb will be a surprise kit that I pick. You can choose gender, if you wish. Check out previous customers delivery baby in the womb on YouTube under rockabuybabynursery baby in womb. Baby will be ready in 2 weeks. The pics are my previous work, not the baby you will receive. Baby is painted with ghsp so it will never chip or fade. Baby will be between 17-21 inches and weigh about 5-6 pds. Micro rooted hair, your color choice. Veining and mottling in just the right places. You must support baby's head like a real baby. Perfect baby fresh cut manicure and pedicure, sealed and glossed. Look up my nursery on Facebook to see more of my work. Angela Thomas at rock-a-buy baby nursery. Baby will come home with 2 outfits , magnetic paci, blanket, diaper, birth certificate, bottle and toy. From a smoke free home. Thank you for looking."

I kept expecting to see "Hand wash. Dry flat. Do not dry clean."

I don't know whether I'm fascinated or weirded out. My God.
About these reborn Dolls. There's no denying they've bought lots of people joy, and love or loathe them. That is anyone's privilege, but. There's no arguing how fantastically crafted and how much work goes in to these creations. Any was enough of me chatting shit.
If I were to push a reborn in the pram around my neck of the woods. I would get very strange looks.

Godstopper · 23/03/2016 23:34

That's not a reborn: it's the Erlenmeyer Flask from X-Files, season 1.

All I can think is DD3 loves surprise eggs. She also loves babies. She would adore this. I on the other hand, would not be too thrilled.

It's sad....not creepy. There are women out there who can't have children and this will make them happy. There's no harm in it.

Oh….dear, ….my…word!

I really don't know what to think. It almost feels like someone preying on vulnerable people, that it's just beyond the people who treat 'reborn dolls' as real babies and crossing into people with desperate needs. Ugh!

I saw a programme about women who had these dolls about 5 years ago and was totally weirded out by it. Now I'm 38, and coming to terms with being single and unlikely to ever have kids I kind of get it a bit more. It would be nice to know what it felt like to push a newborn round in a pram.

The balloon thing is odd though. I can't see it surviving cabin pressure particularly well so you'd more than likely end up with a soggy parcel.
