AIBU?

To hate men who put their big hairy hands across your shoulder for photos?

Yes, strange I know, but I've realised this is a pet peeve.

Seems that whenever there's a group photo - family, work, friends etc I always end up being 'pulled in' to the photo with some bloke's big hairy hand visible on my shoulder!
Sometimes it is DH's and sometimes it isn't (boss, co-worker, friend's DH etc)

I don't know, it just feels and looks so sort of possessive and domineering? Confused

Agree group photo doesn't mean group hug.

MadameDePompom · 23/03/2016 12:39

Carry a taser at all family photo opps. They'll soon learn.

I think the 'possessive and domineering' thing is nuts though. It's usually just a sign of affection.

MadameDePompom · 23/03/2016 12:40

Maybe you should request this kind of photo set-up?

I don't like people doing this.

I always cringe for the people Victoria Beckham drapes herself on.

take off the feminist t-shit!

Maybe it's a friendly thing to do!

TheSinkingFeeling · 23/03/2016 14:23

I think I've watched too much Father Ted.

Feminist t-shit Grin

I think YABU, I see men and women do the arm draping thing all the time.

DubiousCredentials · 23/03/2016 14:36

YANBU although I wouldn't mind if it was DH. I hate being touched by anyone aside from close family.

Beeziekn33ze · 23/03/2016 14:40

GD was in a nightclub with work friends posing for a group pic. A complete stranger to them all sidled up and put his arm around for the pic. He thought it hilarious, she was annoyed. One of her 'friends' put it on Facebook and it prompted a row between GD and her boyfriend. Apparently a lot of men do this in nightclubs, intrusive idiots!

UmbongoUnchained · 23/03/2016 14:46

My husband does this. I've noticed he pushes my shoulders down a bit though so I think it's to make him look taller Grin

Tywinlannister · 23/03/2016 14:48

My enormous DP does this to me too. I like it, it makes me look smaller. Grin

Caffeinator · 23/03/2016 14:49

TheSinkingFeeling that was what I thought of too.

Tywinlannister · 23/03/2016 14:49

Plus its not just men. My SIL is also enormous and in every pic of her, her giant hand is on someone. It's funny.

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 23/03/2016 14:53

My dad does hover hands like the pic , arm round the person but not touching.

Its way weirder, he cant help himself

Actually, I've realised I hate it even more when it's just the hand creeping over the back of the shoulder (no arm visible) - then it looks like this separate hand thing perched on your shoulder - Addams Family style!
