Two siblings both mid/late 30s having never had a relationship, not even a casual boyfriend or girlfriend?

No. It's no ones business really and they may have personal reasons

Birdsgottafly Thu 17-Mar-16 16:01:07

Why does it matter enough to you to start to think it through?

pigeonpoo Thu 17-Mar-16 16:01:38

No...

Are you implying there is insects?

BlueMoonRising Thu 17-Mar-16 16:01:51

Yanbu to ask.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Thu 17-Mar-16 16:02:01

Well yes I would find it odd. If I thought about it at all.

pigeonpoo Thu 17-Mar-16 16:02:02

Bloody hell. Incest not insects

Pinkheart5915 Thu 17-Mar-16 16:02:17

how do you know they've never had a casual thing? some time don't broadcast things like that.

I don't think its old, each to there own. I'm sure they have there reasons.

I met two sisters in their late sixties the other day. They still live in the house they lived in with their mother. They seem to have a lovely life - big social circle based around their church and friends they've made there and they travel abroad several times a year. It doesn't always have to be awful.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees Thu 17-Mar-16 16:03:34

I have 2 brothers in this situation. Tbh yes I do find it a bit odd. They are both happy though so each to you own I suppose.

Slightly odd, unless they are career women.

srslylikeomg Thu 17-Mar-16 16:06:09

I guess I might find it slightly odd, but only in 'passing' as it were! it takes all sorts and it's best not to judge other people's life choices as we are all different (apart from me)

ijustwannadance Thu 17-Mar-16 16:13:31

I would think it odd tbh. There where 2 brothers living in the street I grew up in like that. Be in their 80's now. Their sis who lived on her own was the same. I often wondered what their parents/childhood was like.

OohMavis Thu 17-Mar-16 16:39:08

Asexuality

<shrugs>

Dontknowwhy2 Thu 17-Mar-16 17:04:55

I am one of the siblings DEFINITELY no insects hmm grin and no casual relationships.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Thu 17-Mar-16 17:06:08

What's your story then OP?

hiddenhome2 Thu 17-Mar-16 17:06:35

Not everyone has sexual feelings or craves a relationship. Each to their own.

Dontknowwhy2 Thu 17-Mar-16 17:16:29

I don't know, Through

I do think it's very odd neither of us have had a relationship and suspect it could be down to our upbringing but I just don't know enough in order to really answer you as thoroughly as if like to be able to.

7Days Thu 17-Mar-16 17:19:45

Yeah I would. It is odd, as in unusual. Not wrong, but not ordinary

ijustwannadance Thu 17-Mar-16 17:20:25

Was your upbringing strict? Religious? Lacking in affection? Parents prudish? Etc.

Dontknowwhy2 Thu 17-Mar-16 17:25:14

It was ... a mix, really.

I wish I could say that it was consistently anything. I wouldn't say it was particularly strict but very high standards, which we never lived up to. Not religious but we did get sent to Sunday school twice a day on a Sunday (obviously) but this was just to get rid of us.

I wish I could make some sense of it.

AgentProvocateur Thu 17-Mar-16 17:34:37

Lol at insects!

I wouldn't bat an eye - each to their own. I'd be more concerned if they had no friends.

Ludwsys Thu 17-Mar-16 17:35:55

I wouldn't find it odd, if they didn't want a relationship but it seems that maybe you do. Do you meet anyone you fancy or want to date?
