To offer an adult chicken nuggets for their tea?

DS & I have chicken nuggets (with potatoes & veg) for tea every Friday as an end of the week treat.
This week we will have a family friend with us for our evening meal, she is a lovely lady who is in her mid-60s (I think that maybe relevant).
So...WIBU to offer her chicken nuggets for tea? Should I get something more grown up?

Is your DS old enough to understand a change? I'd do something else if he's 3 or over I think.

If someone was kind enough to cook me tea I'd be happy to eat whatever.

Make posh home made ones?

I love chicken nuggets occasionally , and I am sure my Mum would eat them too if she came for tea and we were having them (similar age to your guest), anyway if she is lovely she would probably be too polite to say anything !

I'm in my 60s. Never cook them for myself but would consider them a treat!

I'd be more than happy with that

I would cook you both something different and let your DS have his nuggets. I'd eat them out of politeness but would think it really odd that I'd been given a kiddies meal. Certainly wouldn't think of chicken nuggets as a treat in a million years!

If I was the guest I would eat it but I'd be a bit surprised. Certainly wouldn't be a treat.

I love them. Also if you have a sainsburys nearby they sell a sauce very similar to the sweet curry one in mcds. It's great British sauce.

Depneds on the 60 yo, and how hard it would be for you to get/cook something else.

Would you seriously not go to a bit more effort for a meal with a friend? It's a very strange meal to give an adult.

Why not give your ds his nuggets and you and your guest have something different -and a bit more grown up-

If they are homemade I think you could get away it it? Not if they are reconstituted chicken!

Serve them in ciabatta with rocket and mayonnaise?

I would do chicken nuggets for DS and a griddled chicken breast (or similar) for the grown ups. Same veg etc for both. Or as pp said, do the same for all three by sort of doing a homemade chicken breast tupe thing in breadcrumbs. (Or like me stick two decent chicken/ham hock pies from Asda in the oven and the grown ups have that).

Why not just do some chicken Kievs for your and your friend, but stick with the nuggets for your DS.

Why don't you do something else for this one Friday? Would be nice to have a change and make a bit of effort for a guest. Nothing fancy, just something nicer?

do the nuggets Thursday and make a shepherds pie fir the 60 ur old and the rest of you Friday?

I'd be polite and eat what I was given though and of course be grateful to be fed at all. but its not what I'd serve up if I had guests

Yes if there are homemade. I'd find it a bit odd if they were the kiddies shop bought ones served with frozen chips. It's quite easy to make them and if you make homemade chips and a nice salad, that would be a lovely meal.

I would be polite and eat them with a Smile face but would probably have a Hmm face going on on the inside.

By the way, on a Friday night the only thing that should ever be served with chicken nuggets is crinkle cut chips and beans (and ketchup). With ice-cream in a bowl with toffee sauce for pudding. Just saying 😄.

I'd gladly eat nuggets, with waffles and spaghetti hoops Smile
