I need to clear my debts. I just paid the last of my catalogue debt off and so tempted to splurge out and order stuff.

It a want not a need. MN please be harsh.

This will save £60 a month in which next week will be able to clear store cards.

De-register your credit card details with any company you buy from online. Catalogue, amazon, ebay/paypal.

Have you tried replacing the desire to shop?

Perhaps with masturbation ? Grin

Already done eBay and scratched the last 3 digits off to cvs.

Can't do Amazon as it saves me money by buying in bulb, I did put a long and not easy to type especially when under the influence of alcohol.

The high gained through the purchase will be short lived and you will feel really disappointed with yourself. You don't need it, get rid of the catalogue.

(Throws catalogues away and hides cards in a secret drawer in ops house). Op cut up your cards, take out in cash what you need for the week, do not take anymore money out until next week. Dont put anything on cards!!!

Am seconding and thirding the idea of splurging one last time on a fabulous aid to masturbation and then make that the new high.

Have you got £60 cash in the house?

How would you feel about setting fire to it?

Because that's a similar way to lose £60 that you should put towards your debt.

Well done on what you've achieved so far.

Cancel the catalogue account, while it remains active the temptation to buy will be there (been there, done that)

Don't do it! Keep going, just imaging how amazing you will feel when that last payment is made and you are debt free!

So far I have cut up credit cards, paid off and cancelled card.

Paid 2 store cards off cut cards up and cancelled accounts. 1 more to pay off and then the account will be cancelled I have cut the card up and set up a direct debit for payments.

Got overdraft down from £2000 to £1000 by reducing any money I have left over from the month. Sometimes it's been £2.50 other time £15 but slowly done it.

Given up smoking ( ok just over 4 weeks) but the money saved has gone on OD.

Thanks for the reality check.

My purse looks so empty without all the cards.

You don't need anything. At all. How many days could you go with a new change of clothes every day, before you needed to wash clothes as you had nothing to wear? If it's more than 7/8 then you have too many clothes already.

I can assure you being debt free is the best feeling in the world and it will feel so much better once you are and can go and spend cash you have rather than borrowing on credit.

You can do this.
