Need a kick up the arse

This is a scenario where I know I'm being stupid, but I need people to tell me that and give me a reality check.

I'm falling for a bloke I should stay miles away from.

1. He just broke up with his gf of two years
2. He told me he liked me when he was still with his gf, but at the time I said no because I wasn't sure how I felt and we worked together in the same department (we don't anymore)
3. He's stingy to obsessiveness and I'm not. He never goes out, never spends on hobbies, never eats out. I'd go mad with that.
4. He wants children and I don't. I'd adopt maybe, but he says he'd never love a child he hadn't created.
5. We have a very complicated friendship already.

To make matters even worse, I haven't shagged anyone in five years (long story) and I'm getting slightly desperate. So I can't even tell if it's my hormones talking or I genuinely love him.

I know I'd be miserable without him in my life as a friend, but I also think we'd make each other miserable.

I'm sick of feeling this way!

It doesn't sound like you'd have much fun together. You both seem to have different ideals and outlooks. Also if he's just come out of a long term relationship he's bound to want a rebound shag which would then further complicate your relationship. Stand down!

I think it's my hormones talking, but a part of me was hoping I'd be his rebound shag...

Horrible, I know.

I don't even know why you need to ask the question.

If you go for it, it will never end well!

I know. It's frustrating.

I don't want to feel this way. But I'm so used to having him in my life and I'm so desperate for a relationship now

Do I need to completely stay away from this guy? Or just be friendly?
