There is a van regularly parked on my street that is fitted with some kind of motion sensing alarm. It only beeps once but very loudly each time it is triggered. We live on quite a narrow residential street and it is set off by every pedestrian and car that passes it and apparently by other things as well (cats? rain? foxes) as it went off innumerable times last night when the street was empty of people and cars. I mean sometimes every few seconds and then not for an hour or so. You can't get used to it because its at such irregular intervals and its impossible to settle the baby (who is up 3 or 4 times a night since the 8 mth regression two months ago anyway) when it is happening.
What can/should I do?
Is this type of alarm legal on a residential street does anyone know?
I feel like waiting until I am much calmer and trying to write a note that manages to be neither aggressive or passive aggressive but appeals to the owners humanity (Oh the HUMANITY) but I am not sure if I have the reasonableness left in me involved in such a thing.
Calling the council - bad form/reasonable/over reaction/not a leg to stand on/right and just?
Deep gratitude for advice!
