I've been going since 9pm and I'm exhausted. But can't sleep as I can't take my usual painkillers so in agony too.

YANBU!

When I came down with norovirus, I had no idea what was wrong with me, and for a moment genuinely thought I might be dying. Blush

Ritz biscuits and lucozade got me through the awful 3-day dizziness and week-as-a-kitten stage.

I'm currently in the can't sleep zombified state of having a cold that's all settled in my nose. Only four hours until I have to get dd up for pre-school, yay! Confused

As an aside, I'm getting my hair done tomorrow (first cut and colour at a salon for the last five years Shock) - is it considered bad form to snot everywhere and then pass out snoring...?

I'd say go for it. At least when you wake up you'll have lovely hair.

I've felt all day feeling awful trying to keep the kids entertained.

Tomorrow we are having the windows all replaced. Dh has to go into work for an important meeting and it's nursery morning and school for the dc. In between hobbling to the bathroom trying not to shit myself I've been praying no one else gets it.

Unfortunately, Sod's law dictates that everyone else will get it the second you start to feel better - sorrySad

At least it's the weekend soon - maybe you'll get some quality quarantine time?

I've just woken my poor Dh thinking the toddler had thrown up. He's going to be shattered tomorrow.

I've run out of water and I'm just pondering whether the trip to the tap is worth it. I'll be disinfecting everything as soon as I can stand without wobbling.

Not as shattered as you will be!

Water is good. Drink lots and lots of water!

I'm going to try and sleep now. I'm really going to need some to get through tomorrow in one piece. Hopefully a couple of hours will do me - at least I don't have to drive anywhere.

Try to sleep, keep hydrated, eat little and often, and all of the other 'well-meaning but slightly pointless when you feel like death' advice you can think of Grin

You have my sympathy, I'm up with an upset stomach, I don't feel terrible do I'm sure it's not norovirus, I felt ill and really cold last night and went to bed at 7, woke up at 3 and have been back and forth to the loo since.

Hope it passes quickly for you.

Noro is horrific, you have my sympathies! Just to let you know, anti-bac won't kill the virus on any hard surfaces, you need to use bleach.

Within 36 hours of getting noro my DD and DH both contracted it. I gave my DD (8) a metal bowl to be sick in as she couldn't make it to the loo in time. I just fed them dry crackers, water and a few sips of Coke every few hours.

Can you keep the children at home today? Just all chill out on the sofa? Chances are they've already contracted the virus from you, and you don't want it spreading........

I'm so sorry! I'm up because we're in the States, it's 9:15 pm here. Hope you feel better soon. Stomach bugs are the worst, you have my sympathies. Thank Heavens it's the weekend soon. I try to keep Gatoraide on hand for stomach issues, tops up the electrolytes. Feel better soon.

I managed a little snooze and woke desperate for water, felt like I had been in the desert. Once I was upright I had to hobble quick but not as quickly as before so I'm seeing it as a positive.
I sat drinking while on the loo so I could get a full glass when I went back to bed. Dh just asked where'd I'd been?! Partying.
I have one precious moist toilet tissue left, I'm saving it for a rainy day as normal loo roll has knives in it now.
No idea where I got this from. Last time it was DS and his nursery.
I hope the Window fitters are kind. Just seen myself in the bathroom mirror and look a little scary.

Awake feeding baby. Norovirus is the pits. Last time I had it I couldn't sleep, so I watched films all night with the sound off (so not to wake dh). Hope your kids don't get it

Awake because that's me. Going to try to get back to sleep but wanted to say I hope you feel better asap. Hope you're keeping water down as I couldn't when I had Norovirus. Any issues with that, then go for small sips. Take care. Flowers

I had norovirus camping at a festival last summer ( not pretty). Smoothies helped me survive once I could actually keep anything down.
Despite the close proximity of sharing a Tent DD didn't get it.

Sympathies we had it last weekend (dh and I). Had to get dm and dmil to look after the kids as we just couldn't Sad. On the plus side ds2 didn't get it nearly as bad and ds1 still hasn't had it. I'm still not 100% but after 24 hours and some sleep did feel a heck of a lot better.

It's so awful we get it every year in this house, (usually in springtime) and have done since about 2007. Why I do not know, as I only ever vomited a handful of times that I can remember from childhood, until I was an adult.

The things I usually try to have in reserve are bleach, Coke or Lucozade, and dry foods such as crackers etc.

The only positive is you should begin to feel better after about 24 hours. Get well soon. Thanks

Rose, Ive had it three times in 20 years....wonder what changed in 2007 in your house..?

Had it on transatlantic flight- not to be recommended - second time last year and I lost 9lb so at least something good came from it!
I do hope you feel better soon op.

I think if you had norovirus you wouldn't even dream of going to the hairdressers. I had it a few years ago and wouldn't have been able to go to work...even if my job had depended on it. I physically couldn't have done it.

Me and the kids have been battling the flu for the last 6 days, and I'm 15 weeks pregnant so I've been floored. I don't know how I'd have coped if it was a vomiting bug! Much sympathy to you OP Brew
