single parent with too much other stuff on my plate
hurt my thumb joint/wrist by applying too much pressure
was getting a bit better but had to use it without paying 100% attention today and it's swelled a bit and is sore. Basically if I leave the house I damage the recovery as I can't concentrate 100% on how i'm moving it when i'm getting the pram on the bus etc etc, but I need to go out sometimes or I'm going to go a bit crazy
any advice gratefully received, am just about managing to feed myself and make the baby's bottles

Have you had an x ray? Do you know that nothing is broken? If not I'd get it looked at at A&E tomorrow, it may be that you need a cast in order for it to start to heal.

Poor you! Can you get a friend to come round to keep you sane, or to help you get out with the buggy?

As you say you have to keep going with looking after a baby, so recovery will probably take a bit longer. But even if you didn't have a baby you'd still have to use your hand sometimes, so I wouldn't worry about it.

thanks. I doubt it's broken....I don't want to believe it's broken! Recovery was slow but ok until today :-(

you need to go to A&E for an x-ray - sounds like it may be broken, but if not you will need some kind of support and strong painkillers. Not wanting to believe it's broken does not mean it isn't.

Do you really want to risk permanent damage? Because that is a possibility if you don't get your wrist properly treated.

It might be a fracture, a sprain, a pulled muscle - whatever, it can't be diagnosed online, you need to have it looked at by someone who knows. Go to A&E, they can treat it.
