There has been a proliferation of people in super dry outerwear. Everywhere you look the the logo emblazoned on the back right shoulder. I saw a whole family the other day branded with "super dry" on their puffa jackets. Why????? Am I an old fogey or is it a bit vulgar?

I hate stuff with the brand name all over it, but that's just my personal preference just ignore this gap logo hoodie I'm wearing, it's dp's

I have Superdry stuff but none with massive logos. I actively reject those.

This is the coat I am wearing today. I don't think it's vulgar (you are free to disagree Grin )

Probably vulgar but I love my puffa its soooooo warm! And I love the shocking pink lining and toggles, that's what sold it to me. I m usually more alternative so it's not about the brand for me it's the super snugglyness of it and those weird thumbholes, warmth wins out over vulgarness for me .

I hope not. I sport a superdry bag.

The Dailymash wrote a funny piece about Superdry and how every middle aged man wears it.

Should probably read vugarity as I think vulgarness is not a real word!

No idea. I thought it was a(n) overpriced teen brand.

Perhaps the coats have cosy linings. I once bought something far too young for me because it felt snuggly. I wore it to watch TV and do crosswords in Grin.

It's not vulgar. That is an odd choice of wordfor what you are trying to describe.

It happens with lots of brands though, I see loads of people wearing north face jackets.

Brands are fine, you need to buy your togs from somewhere, obviously. But the weird super dry logo stamped on the back shoulder ... It just makes me cringe...
That us a gorgeous coat maid does it have the shoulder stamp?

Probably - in the same way people who use the word 'vulgar' are probably snobs. Wink

I won't buy clothing that has a visible brand name on it - there are two camps obviously.

What's vulgar about branded clothing? It's not to my taste but, vulgar??

I have a lovely superdry coat that has no visible logo. I just like the coat and it's very warm.

OP, are you calling it vulgar because you believe the word "Superdry" has some sort of sexual overtones? Confused

I quite like Superdry stuff. DHh has tons of t-shirts and they are long lasting.

Vulgar is an odd word - like it or don't, but vulgar?

MadameDePompom · 22/02/2016 17:54

It's a brand name beloved by teenage boys as far as I can tell.

Not sure where the 'vulgar' part comes in. Unless you yourself are so vulgar that you're seeing vulgarity everywhere you look Wink

What difference does it make if it's got a logo on it? It's still a coat. It still keeps you warm and dry. I have a hoodie that had bench stamped down the side of it and it's warm comfortable and flattering. The logo doesn't make the slightest bit of difference.

osolea vulgar is just the word to describe what I was thinking, not odd at all. Grin

Yay, I passed the 'vulgar' test Smile

It has three logo placements. There is:

  1. a red stitched diamond on the fabric strap that goes across the collar. This is blank on the reverse so I turned it the other way around.
  2. a red metal tag on the left arm. I removed this.
  3. The buttons have 'Superdry' stamped in white around their edge. I have got used to this because I can't be arsed to replace them!

I'd wear a shed load more Superdry stuff if it weren't so heavily branded. I generally like the style.
