AIBU?

To pretend the housework doesn't exist today?

I've had a few days work and go back tomorrow - had a horrible cold throughout my time off and it's only getting worse!

Sunday's are usually spent doing the housework and cooking a big roast for DH and DSS(6), but I don't want to move off the sofa.

DH is lovely and has told me not to worry about the dishwasher and has sorted the laundry etc and has done all the 'big stuff' but normally I'd go all out and make sure the place was spotless ready for the start of a new week. I don't expect DH to do this because he is doing other stuff that he normally does on a Sunday (cleaning out the pets, washing cars - mine as well as his so can't complain!). I'll still cook dinner (whack a roast chicken in the oven this afternoon and some chips, nothing fancy!) so AIBU to just leave the rest and stop being such a perfectionist, just for one day??

DH doesn't think I am, but it's making me twitchy just thinking about it!

I often do this. But its pointless if you are going to twitch all day

If you can honestly relax without it being done then leave it!

It's not going to be the end of the world to have a bit of a messy house.

If it's going to bug you that much that you can't relax then you are going to have to do it arnt you

I might just go back to bed so I can't see it Grin it's really not that bad, would probably only take me 10 mins to get it looking a bit better but I think I'm due a day of rest so I'm trying to coax myself into ignoring it.

We are TTC at the moment too, and I know there's no way in hell I'll be able to keep a very tidy house with a baby, so maybe I should see today as practice at letting the little things go Wink
