A couple I know who think they're the dogs gonads have just bought the ugliest house.

Many of you will say I'm lame and need to get a life. But this has put me in quite a good mood!

That is all.

We're going to need to see pictures of the house.

Maybe they like it?

They clearly don't think it's ugly. Maybe they think yours is ugly. Pretty pointless being "gleeful" about it.

Get a life, OP.

But presumably thats subjective? I mean, they didnt accidentally buy it so they must like it? Confused

Ha! My house is ugly but we're putting it up for sale this year. Won't put a pic up. Too scared of being outed.

I dunno they just are so up themselves and it's nice to know that they make bad decisions once in a while. I do love a bit of schadenfreude!

I know they like it because they only moved a couple of doors down because they can extend the property-- how square is that though??

What, buying somewhere so you can add value?

Report
theknackster · 19/02/2016 15:41

Of course YABU. However, schadenfreude can be cathartic!

But some people are so obsessed by adding value that they forget to buy a beautiful property it seems.

Possibly if they were very snobby I'd be the same

I don't know how you can be bothered to be bothered. Live and let live.

You also don't see the outside of your house from inside. HTH.

Cringe... Do people really get het up about such silly things?

How do you even know what house they bought? Did you follow them to the viewings with some binoculars?

Sigh I'd love a house. Wouldn't care too much if it were ugly. I would care about the location of the house though. If I were offered this house for free I'd decline.

I felt slightly amused - but not pleased, exactly - when someone I find very, very annoying bought a house in possibly the worst estate in the whole town, without realising how bad it is.

I also felt very sorry for them. I wouldn't want anyone to live there, and they have children whom I like and it seemed like such a stupid, awful cock up.

There's nothing you can do about it either way. Sad

Yes better to live in the ugly house than to live across the road from it.

If they're renovating I imagine they will rectify the outward appearance of their dwelling. Or maybe they won't, as we all know it's the inside that counts the most ...

I think people are underestimating the importance of an attractive house.

This particular house/shape/design cannot be changed unfortunately .

I suppose it's hard these days to find a moderately attractive house in a nice area these days. No one seems to be moving!

I'm sure they'll be very happy there there's no doubting but the house is a minger.

Maybe it's the best thing they could afford, and they compromise on the exterior style for more space/ a better life?

Frankly, you spend more time inside your house than in the front garden looking at it!

You might also have completely different taste?

If you extend it does add value but you only get back what you put in so don't really make anything on it.

Aw show us a pic!
