It wouldn't be one of those obvious celebrity names, but I suppose the name has only really grown on me because of that celebrity... I suppose it isn't exactly a celebrity, more like a film name - this isn't it, but think Harry Potter and because they are obsessed with the films/books, they name their son Harry

I wouldn't - very dating, in my view. I wouldn't have wanted to be named after whoever was famous in the early '70s

ThroughThickAndThin01 Sun 07-Feb-16 18:55:24

It depends on the name.

Kanye, no.

You know you'll have to give us the name before we can answer properly grin

Is it Bilbo?

CalleighDoodle Sun 07-Feb-16 18:55:53

Im going to need to know the name to judge.

StitchesInTime Sun 07-Feb-16 18:58:03

Completely depends on the name.

CwtchyQ Sun 07-Feb-16 18:58:08

What's the name smile

PoppyBobby Sun 07-Feb-16 18:58:21

It's not a special name, I suppose quite popular... Quite current too, would be Elliot and then William for the middle

SlinkyVagabond Sun 07-Feb-16 18:58:24

It's Hagrid isn't it?

PoppyBobby Sun 07-Feb-16 18:58:45

No, lol

iMatter Sun 07-Feb-16 18:59:09

We need to know the name.

Ds2 was named after my favourite ever dog. Luckily the dog's name was Harry.

AnchorDownDeepBreath Sun 07-Feb-16 18:59:35

Elliot is fine, I think. Hagrid not so much..Although they'd probably be the only Hagrid in their school!

PoppyBobby Sun 07-Feb-16 18:59:58

Elliot William, you know, like Billy Elliot? (Who is actually William Elliot)

It's just my favourite show ever (seen it 17 times)

ollieplimsoles Sun 07-Feb-16 19:01:04

My friend has an Elliot op, he was named after Billy Elliot the musical.
Its a nice name

liberatedwine Sun 07-Feb-16 19:01:11

As long as it's Harry after the boy wizard, and not Harry after the curly haired boy from One Direction.

Tell us the name! Is it Spongebob?

iMatter Sun 07-Feb-16 19:01:36

Go for it. smile

gunting Sun 07-Feb-16 19:01:44

No one is ever going to make the association between billy Elliot and Elliot William so it's fine

Names like miley though.... Just no

Topsy34 Sun 07-Feb-16 19:02:42

I wouldn't even realise it was from that unless you pointed it out

CalleighDoodle Sun 07-Feb-16 19:02:49

I like the name miley.

cardibach Sun 07-Feb-16 19:02:49

That's not after a celebrity, though. It's names from a show. I don't think the names sound right that way round, as it happens.

PoppyBobby Sun 07-Feb-16 19:02:52

It's no so much them noticing more so the "oh, who's William after? How did you think of the name" and there's me with my
Lousy answer 😂

BlueJug Sun 07-Feb-16 19:02:57

Hermione? Ginny? Benedict? Kim? Perrie? Brooklyn? Cruz?

The only answer is "it depends but as long as you like it doesn't matter"

PoppyBobby Sun 07-Feb-16 19:03:51

Okay, thanks everyone, just wanted to triple check!

BlueJug Sun 07-Feb-16 19:04:15

Sorry - such a slow typist!

CakeNinja Sun 07-Feb-16 19:04:22

I wouldn't in a million years link it to being a 'celeb name', I like the name Elliot.
And realistically, how often does anyone use their middle names?
