Am I being U?

I don't think I'm being U here but I'd like a few opinions.

I'm the technology geek in the family and if I'm asked to help out family members etc then I'll either help them or point them in the right direction.

Within thirty seconds of waking up this morning my wife comes in the bedroom with her iPad and her sister on Facetime (she'd woken way before me and was obviously waiting for me to wake up), the sister was having a problem with iTunes and before I could say good morning my wife started explaining to me what the problem was. I cut her off mid sentence saying that I'd just literally woken up, give me a few minutes and I'll help... I then went to the bathroom etc, walked into the living room and again my wife launched into the problem, I said sarcastically 'No good morning then?' to which my wife called me a 'Grumpy bitch'. I then said if she's going to be like that then I won't help, all of this occurred whilst the sister was on Facetime.

My wife is now very loudly trying to help her sister.

Am I being unreasonable?

I think that you should go back to bed with a cup of tea and start again. smile

Nope yanbu, what an annoying way to wake up, just tell her next time you need a chance to wake up and get breakfast/coffee, it's itunes help so hardly an emergency.

God no. My kids do similar things when I am just in the door from work. I just look at then till they get it. They are both late teens.

Yanbu. At all.

YANBU. I would be very pissed off for someone to ask me to fix something (or indeed to facetime someone) when I'd just woken up.

You're not unreasonable at all and you should ignore your dw loudly trying to make you feel obliged to help.

Get a brew and help later if your still needed.

Yanbu. I would go back to bed

Thanks all smile

Yanbu for not wanting to help the moment you wake up, it annoys me if people launch at me before I've had a chance to get going.

Maybe next time don't say to give you a few minutes but "Morning dps sister, can you call back in 40 mins and I will help you then."

Maudofallhopefulness Sun 07-Feb-16 10:49:52

Yanbu. You shouldn't have to do anything on a Sunday morning before a wee and a cup of tea.

God no! If anyone shoved a facetime conversation at me before I'd even got out of bed, they'd be told straight. Get lost.
