Dd has had a temp since fri with stomach ache (severe at times). Very high temp too.
No d&v though she has been sick its to do with the temperature.

I seem to remember a stomach pain virus a few yrs ago. Though dont think i had a temp.

Dmum may have had this a few weeks before but certainly the temperature wasnt this high not did anything last as long and she also had earache.

I am up with my DD now and am so glad I saw this. She's 9 months and since Friday has had a temperature on and off and what I think is tummy pain (obviously she can't tell me!) I took her to the dr this morning to get her checked over and all was fine.

She is especially bad at night and we've had very little sleep. She kept pulling her knees up which made me think her tummy was sore. I didn't know there was a virus like this so its reassured me a bit as I really was at a loss as to what was causing it!

It seems to be a nasty bug going around. DS got it last week and was poorly for a few days (including his birthday!), he was sick only once but v high temp and stomach pain stuck around.
Over half of his class were off with it last week....hope your ones all feel better soon!

Yes! Both boys had it last week. Ds2 was sick once, but the main feature was stomach cramps and feeling nauseous. No temperature.

I had a virus with very severe stomach pain but no d and V a few years ago. Doctor had to come to house (unheard of) it was so bad.

He thought it was flu, possibly swine flu as this has stomach pain. Thing some other kinds of flu do too.

My three year old is just getting over this, fever, stomach pain, lots of wind for some reason and coupled with a cold he was miserable for ten days. It's gone now but was pretty bad.

My colleague had this! She was never sick but felt rough for a week or so - doctor said it was a virus and there was nothing to do but wait it out.

Hope you all feel better soon Thanks

We've all just had this too - nausea, stomach pains, bit dizzy ... No D and V at all. Passed in a couple of days ...

Good luck!

Yes, my son had this a few years ago and was wrongly diagnosed with a grumbling appendix.

It lasted about 4 days and ended with him breaking out in hives before it got better.

Sometimes an infection will cause the glands in the stomach to swell causing pain.
Look up Mesenteric Adenitis

Yes October time, half term holiday we all came down with a virus. We all had stomach ache, nausea, bad wind, achy joints and knackered. Dc had temperatures too. My hips and legs hurt like hell, Dh had pain all up his back. Lasted 2-3 days.

Yes! Cold/flu like symptoms, we've all had bad coughs with it, dizziness/travel sick kind of feeling, and bad stomach pain. I'd have stomach pains particularly after eating but no d+v, bad wind too (sorry). Drinkable yoghurt soothed the pain a bit. I've mostly shifted it now but with a bit of fatigue lingering, keep nodding off, and achy joints.

Yes, DS1 had one a few years ago. It was some kind of adenovirus, and affected his abdominal lymphatic glands, but he had no D&V, just a temp, pain and lethargy. Lasted 5-6 days and he passed it on to everyone else - however, when I got it (about 12h after he did) I certainly DID get D&V. DH got the D but not the V; MIL got both iirc, and BIL (who lived with MIL at the time) got it too but I don't remember which bits.

It was a HIDEOUS week. :( All we could do for DS1 (who wasn't quite 3 at the time) was dose him with alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol and keep him hydrated. Pretty much the same for me too.

The doctor yesterday thought I have an ulcer as I have this but have also had a few spells of stomach cramps/nausea/sickness lately.
I'm now wondering if I have this virus. Either way it's horrible, very painful.

DH and DD had it 2 yrs ago. It seems to give the most horrendous stomach cramps especially after lunch. DH was wrongly diagnosed with a blockage and told to eat a huge bowl of pasta. I nearly called an ambulance he was in so much pain. Took most of a week to go and DD came down with it then so thankfully we were wise to it and kept her on light foods/fluids as much as possible. No temp that I recall but there may have been one as the stomach cramps peaked in the afternoons.

Flowers to those of you who are ill.

Ah so quite a few people.
It does seem bad enough to appear like an appendicitis (to me at least)
She did also say a bit dizzy.
As she is only 3 its hard to get a straight answer about symptoms.
Its day 6 today so hopefully she will start feeling better soon.
Its an odd one as noone else in the house has the pain and fever. Possibly they had diarrhoea.
She has been checked for ear infection/urine and lungs etc all clear.
She also seems very gassy. And hasnt been really eating. She wouldnt be able to describe nausea.
I dont like her having the maximum medicine for so long. Her temp just keeps spiking.

My DS is off school at the moment with this - most of the symptoms are those of a normal cold, but intermittently he's having really bad stomach pains too. It's a sod!

Me, DP and at least three relatives we saw last week have had something like this in the last two weeks. With DP it was all horrendous-smelling gas (I honestly nearly cried a couple of times once I started getting ill myself and felt nauseous already). I've had some really bad nausea and intense abdominal pain/cramps, not at the same time. Neither of us has really had D&V with it.

Lurcio- havent really had a cold with it here, just a cough. But her nose is starting to run today so maybe the cold/flu is breaking and she will start to feel better.

Yes I've had it three or four times. The first time I was in such agony for no known reason that OOH sent me to a&e. They did an X-ray and some other stuff then sent me home with some buscopan. I literally had no symptoms other than the belly pain. Actually that might not be true - all I can remember now is the pain.

Yep, my DS(6) is off with it today. Day 4 for him. Stomach pain, headache, and high temp. Foul smelling wind as well! he's finally picking up today, and it's the first time since Saturday that he is free of pain relief and actually feels ok.

Apparently the school have received from info from the LA about a particular flu-like virus going round at the moment that sounds very much like this.

I had something similar but without the temperature many years ago. Exactly the sort of pain you'd get with diarrhoea, roughly every half hour, but little or no poo. It lasted about 3 days, getting gradually better (pains further apart). The doctor said it was viral and I think it probably was. I haven't heard of anyone having it recently but it definitely sounds like the same kind of illness.
