AIBU?

To think my baby doesn't like me..?

Hm.

DD just turned 1. She's going through a right funny wee phase just now, grumpy tantrums etc, but she's always seemed to be very strong willed.

She just suddenly seems not to like me very much. Always pushing me away and fighting with me, screaming at me, hitting my hands away etc.

Lights up like a Christmas tree when her daddy is around. Perfect angel for grandparents. I just seem to get the brunt of her bad moods.

This morning she woke up from her nap and her dad lifted her out of her cot. She was fine. He was about to have a shower so handed her to me. She went nuts, crying and straining towards him.

She's been shown nothing but love, never a cross word said to her from either of us. I know deep down I'm probably being silly because it's not like she means it, and of course I'm not showing at all that this is getting to me (just carrying on as normal) but it's disheartening. I do everything for that girl and I worship the ground she walks on.

Any thoughts?

It's a phase. Often babies do it to their dads, but sometimes mums get the brunt of it. She feels safe enough to push boundaries with you. Although I'd find it infuriating, try not to take it personally.

Thanks both. That makes me feel a bit better.

She's always been a daddy's girl and I'm fine with that, but this is a whole different kettle of fish.

Genuinely couldn't think of anything I'd done wrong!

Totally a phase, my dd is almost 2 months and tbh I'm looking forward to when she's all about her dad - that could be my nipples talking though!

She's just widening her horizons a bit is all, it'll pass.
