Just seen the new Mattel doll range and I am really happy as a mum of a black daughter it annoys me that I have to order pretty black dolls on line because doll dont think my daughter deserves a doll that looks like her

Also that fact they are dressed nicely someone brought my daughter a braz doll and oh was furious he was like why is ....... Dressed like a stipper and I had to agree tbh

I also like the fact they finally have red hair dolls

There are other companies on line who have done this but I think Mattel may be the first main stream

It's a long time coming but at least they now having a go I will go and by a black one at the weekend with dds toys r us voucher grin

Oh, oops, missed the 'YANBU' bit of that out!

Hasn't there always been a variety of skin colours in barbie dolls?

YANBU. However, Groovy Girls have done this for a very long time.

I started a thread about this in chat a little while ago.

The black doll has been out for ages.

They've just introduced 3 new petite, curvy and tall dolls.

I had a black doll in the 70's we fought over her!!

I think they look nicer and less cheap than the usual barbies.

Dd has no barbies but I'd probably be happy with these

I had this Barbie in 1984 - I absolutely loved her.

A much wider range of black Barbie dolls were introduced in 2009
